R and R and shopping.
The first thing Katara would do once she got her shore leave and money would be to head to a shop a buy a bathing suit: it nothing too bare, she preferred one pieces to bikinis anyway, and she got one with a pretty interesting design decked in blue. When that was done, she purchased some suntan lotion and made straight away for the water, laughing and giggling as she playfully had the tide come to meet her. When she got close enough she turned in the air and landed neatly into the water, using her hands to have the water sweep her out as she dove in and out. She did just about everything she could there: water surfing, exploring the sea creatures within, and bringing the waves up and down to take her higher in the air. Anyone who could have observed the girl would have known immediately her element, and when she finally DID get out of the water, she wasn't tired but in fact more pumped up and ready to see more of this place.
Also, she could eat seafood, couldn't she? The possibilities were endless!

"Come on in Sokka!" She said. "The water's great!"

"Otherwise I'll have to call it Na Sing Se. And nobody wants that."

Although. "Are you sure that's supposed to be Ba Sing Se? From here, it looks a little like the town that was destroyed and then Heibai got mad..."

"I guess I'll go for a swim, then, if my architecture isn't up to snuff." He carefully dropped his sunglasses with the rest of his clothes, then trotted out towards the waves.

Which was why, as he was approaching the shore, a big wave came up and lightly tossed her brother in the air, to move him a little closer to her.
"Sorry," she called out, her eyes not in the least bit.
Threadjacking!
For a moment he decided to reveal himself—but only to Katara, since she seemed to be the only one who was at any risk of actually injuring him (no offense, but the male didn’t seem all that threatening) and since he figured she should be in on this somehow. Two long, webbed auricles, slender and stalk-like, protruded from the surface like fleshy antennae, followed soon after by a cloth-covered forehead and two lavender eyes. The alien’s blue fur would’ve made him nigh invisible to those near the shore, but Katara probably saw him. Hopefully.
The creature gave her a wink and sunk back into the water without so much as a ripple to suggest that he’d ever surfaced. His shadow moved towards the other…
…And gently brushed against his leg.

"Something brushed my leg."

"It's just your imagination," Katara insisted. "What would possibly be furry in the water?"

Some of his money had gone towards a boogie board, and presently he was riding it on top the waves that were rolling in. Or would be if he hadn't wiped out.

"Oh!" she exclaimed, and parted the water, gentle coaxing the waves to push Danny upward, back onto his board. "I'm sorry Danny, I didn't see you there! How are you?"
no subject
"Nah it's fine. Not like it wouldn't eventually happen on it's own."

"Isn't this fun?" she asked, laughing. "I've missed the ocean so much!"
