R and R and shopping.

The first thing Katara would do once she got her shore leave and money would be to head to a shop a buy a bathing suit: it nothing too bare, she preferred one pieces to bikinis anyway, and she got one with a pretty interesting design decked in blue. When that was done, she purchased some suntan lotion and made straight away for the water, laughing and giggling as she playfully had the tide come to meet her. When she got close enough she turned in the air and landed neatly into the water, using her hands to have the water sweep her out as she dove in and out. She did just about everything she could there: water surfing, exploring the sea creatures within, and bringing the waves up and down to take her higher in the air. Anyone who could have observed the girl would have known immediately her element, and when she finally DID get out of the water, she wasn't tired but in fact more pumped up and ready to see more of this place.

Also, she could eat seafood, couldn't she? The possibilities were endless!

Sokka, in his aviator shades and a simple pair of blue trunks was mostly lounging on the beach by the time Katara finished up, busily building up a sand castle of types. He paused in his work to wave at his sister, then went back to adding more details to what looked like a fairly good replica of Ba Sing Se and it's huge wall.

"But I still need to finish the Impenetrable City!" Sokka called back, looking with some mild disappointment at the still incomplete wall.

"Otherwise I'll have to call it Na Sing Se. And nobody wants that."

"What?! It totally looks like Ba Sing Se!" Sokka grumped for a moment, than turned towards the ocean.

"I guess I'll go for a swim, then, if my architecture isn't up to snuff." He carefully dropped his sunglasses with the rest of his clothes, then trotted out towards the waves.

Threadjacking!

In the water, a creature was lurking. Said creature had been stealthy up until this point; his ten-foot-long, snake-like shadow, moving smoothly and without disturbance through the deep blue waves, happened several feet from where the young human male had been deposited. And the mind it belonged to was ready to actually have some fun for once, yeah?

For a moment he decided to reveal himself—but only to Katara, since she seemed to be the only one who was at any risk of actually injuring him (no offense, but the male didn’t seem all that threatening) and since he figured she should be in on this somehow. Two long, webbed auricles, slender and stalk-like, protruded from the surface like fleshy antennae, followed soon after by a cloth-covered forehead and two lavender eyes. The alien’s blue fur would’ve made him nigh invisible to those near the shore, but Katara probably saw him. Hopefully.

The creature gave her a wink and sunk back into the water without so much as a ripple to suggest that he’d ever surfaced. His shadow moved towards the other…

…And gently brushed against his leg.

Sokka jerked his leg away from a frown. He was used to swimming and the idea that there things in the water. But that had been...furry. How strange. He looked over to Katara.

"Something brushed my leg."

Danny, while swimming wasn't really his greatest skill (That would actually be flying) dove into the water readily. After all, who knew when he'd be able to do this again?

Some of his money had gone towards a boogie board, and presently he was riding it on top the waves that were rolling in. Or would be if he hadn't wiped out.

Danny pulled himself up onto the board, gasping a bit for air.

"Nah it's fine. Not like it wouldn't eventually happen on it's own."
