Testing... [Open like an open thing!]

"Right, let's try this one more time." Wyn mutters to herself, resetting the automatic tennis ball launcher. The tennis ball launcher and several translucent displays were the only things in the otherwise featureless white room, and (rather unusually) Wyn was still wearing her plantsuit. She was determined not to skew the results of her testing by using the Sensorium unnecessarily, even though she suspected that she couldn't actually do much to change the outcome so far.

Wyn walks back to the duct-taped line on the floor, locking the large silver bracelets on her wrists in place as she walks. "And… take 37." she says with an irritated grimace. hitting two buttons on the display closest to her. The tennis ball launcher fires, sending a tennis ball flying at Wyn's head-- and by extension, the door to the outside behind her. Now would be a very good time to not distract her, unless you'd like to be whacked in the head by a flying tennis ball.

Is that a tennis ball launcher I hear? Is someone practicing? Tsukasa heard those telltale signs outside a sensorium. He decided to risk being hit in the head with one, though, since he was quite good at tennis in the World of Faiz.

When he entered, though, he just saw a single woman and the launcher. Guess not. Although, I cannot help but wonder what she's doing... Tsukasa leaned against the door to watch and try to figure out what Wyn is up to.

Tsukasa caught the ball. "Watch out for what?"

"Um. Well, the tennis ball, but obviously that wasn't much of a problem." Wyn says, the light from her bracelets fading a bit. "Could I have it back, please?"

Tsukasa tossed the ball to her. "So, what's with the launching set-up here anyway?"

[identity profile] forthewyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Just some testing. Nothing too exciting, especially since it's not actually working." Wyn says, catching the ball with one hand and moving one of the translucent displays with the other.

"Testing? Are you testing your powers or something?"

[identity profile] forthewyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sort of. These--" Wyn taps one of the bracelets with a free hand. "-- are supposed to be a remote apportation setup, when they work. Right now, they just sort of look pretty."

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"'Remote application setup...'" Tsukasa said, cupping his chin with his hand. "Does that mean you can use those to move objects at a distance?"

[identity profile] forthewyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Sure, if they're stationary. I'm working on objects in motion right now, hence the tennis ball launcher." Wyn says, pointing back at the machine with her thumb.

Tsukasa took a second to consider his next statement. "So, what's the problem, then?"

Maybe he should have taken another second.

"Hmm..." Tsukasa paced the device, taking stock of it, and trying to figure out what Wyn's plan is.

"I have a rough understanding of what's going on here; have you considered starting from a slower speed, to work out the kinks of your powers before moving up to something that would leave a rather nasty bruise?"

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-06-09 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
So...her powers must involve moving items. If they're already in motion, it would make sense for that to be easier. Tsukasa thought, planning his next statement.

"Maybe if you had someone toss something lighter, like say...a card?" There was a faint revving noise, and the Decade card magicked itself into Tsukasa's hand.

Axel has not had the misfortune of being hit in the face by a small, fuzzy green ball before. As he strolls into the room, a chakram spinning in each hand, he muses that he really should learn how to knock, because this room is obviously occupied, and he isn't too excited about the projectile flying for his nose.

Wincing as it bounces off and away, his hands tighten on his chakrams, and it takes him a second to focus on the ridiculously short blonde he had met a few days ago when he first popped. An eyebrow lifts, and he smirks at her.

"Don't you need a racket to play tennis?"

[identity profile] forthewyn.livejournal.com 2010-06-08 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"I would, if I was playing tennis, but I'm not, so I don't." Wyn says, whirling around to face the ridiculously tall redhead she'd met at the meet-and-greet. "Sorry about the tennis ball, by the way-- are those bicycle wheels you're holding?"
