Nanashi stood in the centre of the Obs Deck, surveying the doors for a little green boy.
"How you've fallen," drawled the voice of her ex-lover, Kano, in her mind, "to be relying on a child for help."
Nanashi dutifully ignored his taunting, pulling her black cloak around her. She pulled her hair behind her shoulders.
She was not used to waiting for anything, or anyone, but she was determined to be patient. She would need to learn a lot of new things if she were to survive on this ship.
Step one, she would need to make it so that she could easily see, and this Beast Boy was going to help her with that.
True he was a child, but however Kano taunted her, she would trust a child long before she would trust any adult on this ship.

He'd been on the ship for a few days now but was still having a hard time getting around. Lucky for him he had his powers. Whenever he got hungry he shifted into a bloodhound and just followed the scent of Mush and misery.
It was almost by luck that he stumbled upon the Obs deck, he would have breezed right past Nanashi if the scent of blood hadn't hit him like a stack of bricks.
It was subtle, but someone with a sensitive nose like Beastboy's would pick it up in passing. He turned around looking confused, he didn't see anyone bleeding...

Despite the headache the light was giving her she gave no hint of how the light dulled her vision. She approached Beastboy at a pace that was rather fast for a human. She wanted to find these sunglasses as soon as possible.
"Hello? Beastboy?" she ventured. With a nod of her head as was proper to her position, she introduced herself, "Queen Nanashi, of Kuninoryu."

He grinned cheerfully pushing away his nervous, "Nice to meetcha err..your highness." He felt a little awkward but kept going, "You doing OK still?"

Nanashi smiled reassuringly and without showing her fangs, "I am surviving. Even if the light hurts, it cannot damage my eyes permanently, or even for a short time. I heal too quickly for that."
"The child is on to you already, dear. What if he tries to kill you like that wolf pup?" Nanashi's eye twitched a bit as she stopped herself from yelling at Kano for calling her 'dear'. He lost the right to do that long ago, but there was no need to scare him.

"Cool fangs." He added, "I've got some too!" And he hooked a finger in the side of his mouth to show he did in fact have a gleeming set of fangs of his own. "Ah oo ike a ampire or oomhing?" He asked forgetting to remove his finger while speaking.

She used her laugh to cover the moment it took her to decide how to answer him. "You definitely have fantastic fangs, even more impressive than a vampire's," she said with a laugh, "I've never seen a vampire with fangs on their lower jaw as well, and I see vampires all the time!"

And with a blur of green he shifted into a Cat, followed by a rat, and then a bat chattering cheerfully flapping his wings to hover in place.

Knowing that humans did not have the friendliest opinion of vampires she made sure to quickly add, "But I am not going to bite you or anything like that. I only take blood from willing donors, and only because I must. I am sure you understand?" Her face was sincere. She really would not take blood from Beastboy, but more of because she considered him still a child, and she would not have harm come to a child. She also usually only took from willing donors, but she also usually could make an unwilling donor willing as long as she had time alone with them.
No, she would not hurt Beastboy but she was not as angelic as she was pretending to be. Of course, she was too smart to let on.

"Hopefully you'll be able to find someone willing to err...donate. If you're anything like the movies I'm sure it won't be too hard. Vampires are pretty hot these days." He laughed with good nature.

She was relieved that he took what she told him in stride. It made things so much easier. Still, she didn't entirely expect him to start hitting on her. "Oh my, I so not know what a movie is, but was that you trying to court me?"
With a light laugh she added, "I think I might be a bit too old for you, Beastboy."

She shook her head and changed the subject, "So, shall we get going on our search? Where shall we start?"
no subject
To put it bluntly...Beastboy didn't have a clue where to start.

She adjusted the cape on her shoulders and started walking towards the door, "I believe I know where the engineers have a station set up. I have been meaning to visit for other reasons anyway."

Though he had to admit he was getting used to running around barefoot.
"I've seen people with jackets and stuff, maybe there's somewhere we could get you a hat to at least shade your eyes. You doing OK? It's not too bright here is it?"

Nanashi often went without shoes in the castle or on the battlefield. In the battlefield, having no shoes actually gave her a better footing. Still, the plantsuit was not doing it for her.
"I believe the people who have jackets or accessories got them from the possessions pick up. That is where I got my cape. However, I am sure there is some way to get some clothes. I shall let you know if I find out."
Even though she said the light was fine, it was a real headache. In attempts to improve the situation, she pulled her hair over one shoulder and lifted up her hood.

"Being a Queen... It is..." She thought back to what she had to do to get the throne, and all the war she had ruled through. She hadn't realized as a child that the country had been so on edge with the neighbouring human country. Her kidnapping their people did not aid in relations, not that that would have stopped her.
"It can be hard. Very hard. My country is- was at war with the neighbouring human country." Of course, leave out the kidnapping. "So I have seen many battles. Of course, I also can tell anyone in the entire country to do anything, and it will happen. That can be fun. I can do anything I want... Well, not quite. I can do anything I want that will not cause an uprising. And I cannot ignore my duties to the state either. There are a lot of managerial things that I cannot ignore." Her face fell as she talked. She never realised how many responsibilities she had. She just did them.
Then she thought of the things that went on behind closed doors, the things that had gotten her a reputation for being wild. She began to smile again. "One of the best parts, though, is most definitely being able to get whatever you want when you want it."

Not one to be deterred Beastboy shifted again to a weasel rolling between his new friends legs and springing to his feet again appearing behind her, "My friend got to be Queen once, on her world she was a princess but her older sister took over right? Well her older sister was a lousy queen, totally cruel and mean and junk so my friend Starfire fought her for the crown and won of coarse." He grinned remembering it fondly, "Then she gave the crown to her most trusted gigantic nanny type dude and he became king. He's awesome even though he's totally scary looking with a great huge beard and stuff." Beastboy did his best to make a face that looked scary and manly at the same time.
[[OOC: SQUEE!!! THAT WAS MY FAVOURITE STARFIRE EPISODE!!!]]
With a wider smile Nanashi continued, "It just goes to prove that you cannot judge one by their appearance." Take her for instance. She was not very tall, or particularly muscular, but she could probably make a house crumble with a well placed punch.
Seems like Beastboy has a story for everything X3
And to prove his point he shifted into a green wolf growling, baring his teeth and then letting out a howl that echoed down the halls.

She stretched her arms and yawned. She was used to sleeping during the day, yet here she was, wandering the halls. What was this place doing to her?
After a yawn Nanashi said, "You know, we had a fairly good relationship with the werewolves, but when I got on board, I was attacked by a werewolf during the meet and greet. And so many here have seen technology beyond my wildest dreams! Have you found this place to be as alien from your own world?"

Sorry for my earlier fail!! [kicks Al]
She was on her way to the Engineering Core, but something on the opposite side of the hall caught her eye.
Rather, to clarify, it caught her eye more than the usual weird behavior going on. A boy turning into a wolf and then turning back into a boy.
Oh, and he was green.
She stopped
I thought I'd made it clear, apparently it wasn't Five A.M clear. ^_^;;;
Oil, grease, stainless steel, sweat...Blond girl! BINGO!
He let out a howl of triumph and scampered over to Winry wagging his tail and barking excitedly.
We all suffer from fail at five A.M.
With a small smile she shook her head and followed Beastboy over to the girl. She was another young one. So many children were aboard this ship, even if this one was just old enough to be considered a woman.
With her fanged smile, Nanashi decided to be the first to speak, "Hello."
Even if royalty was not supposed to speak first, it was not the girl's fault. She probably didn't even know Nanashi was a queen yet. Besides, no one on this ship seemed to know how to address a queen.
For the record, I blame Al. =P
And what was with those fangs?
"Um, hi." She reminded herself to be polite and not weirded out. "I'm..."
Confused? Probably the word that was going to follow that.
Let the record show that records are outdated and we all use MP3's now.
Let the record show that Poptarts are AMAZING!
With a slight nod of her head she said, "Excuse us. This is Beastboy, and I am Queen Nanashi of Kuninoryu. I believe you were trying to give us your name."
Well, if the young lady wasn't too confused, and Beastboy's nose was right, then they might be able to make some progress.
Massive apologies for being so late, this has been a busy several days.
"Winry. Winry Rockbell, I am a mechanic, but how could you know that?"
And then it kicked in that she was also talking to a Queen and she straightened up. How do you act in front of a queen, anyway?
I blame the nazis
oh. my. god. I just realized, with Nanashi's habit of saying little one, she must meet Ed!
Nanashi put her hand on Beastboy's head, "We have been searching for someone who might be able to help me with something. I need a pair of these things called 'sunglasses'. Either those or these things that are supposedly like lenses that you can put in your eye called 'droptacs'. Do you know anyone who can make either of those for me?"
FWAHAHAHAHAAA, yes. :D Ed-mun would love that, especially since he's not-so-short anymore!!
"Well... I'm not really the best person to ask about looking for people here, but probably someone in the engineering area. I specialize more in mechanics..."
She was thinking allowed, really.
Even his "Not so short" is still kinda short.
