Just Great [Open]
Cassie can tell you lots of details about the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
Firstly, it is sometimes called the Olympieion, and secondly, there were two of them. The bigger of the two was in Athens, and the second was in Agrigento, though that one was never finished. Today they are both in ruins, but Cassie has seen enough plans and artistic interpretations and digital renderings to know what they’re supposed to look like.
Stacy has the one from Athens. Cassie had smiled when she approached it; unlike the modern reinvisions of it, in plain alabaster stone, this one has been painted in garish colours, as it was supposed to be. It was historically accurate, and a history nerd like her appreciated that.
But what she doesn’t appreciate is how dead it is inside. She is powerless without a boon from Zeus or Ares, and in a place like this, it is most definitely not her idea of fun to be without. With so much on her mind, and so much she still had to think about, Cassie figures having her abilities certainly would be one less thing to worry about, not to mention extremely useful.
Unfortunately, it’s quite apparent that neither Greek god is here to give her a boost. She hasn't seen Ares watching her since she got here. That, if nothing else, confirms they're far away from where they're supposed to be.
She scowls and sits down on the front steps.
Great. Just great.

"Hey, you all right?"
no subject
"In this place? As alright as I can be, I think."
no subject
"I know, been around for maybe months now and it's still hard to adjust to," She remarked with a sigh.
no subject
"I'm sorry to hear that... and I can already imagine why it's hard to adjust to. Hopefully we all find a way out soon."
no subject
She then offered her hand, "I'm Kate by the way."
no subject
"I've been through some pretty crazy stuff, but at least all those times, I knew how I got here. No matter how anyone swings it, plucking people out of different points in the timestream and putting them in pods isn't exactly justifiable."
no subject
"Know a good friend by that. Friend and teammate really. We've been through crazy times there too."
no subject
Now Cassie's thinking about baseball on alien planets.
"Just out of curiosity, what kind of crazy stuff?"
no subject
Kate leaned back as she sat to stretch, and then added, "Mmmm... like two alien races showing up for a turf war/custody battle?"
no subject
She figures she should throw in an anecdote.
"I think aliens kidnapping Young Justice to make us play baseball is the height of weird for me."
no subject
Kate smiled more at that, "Why baseball? And we're called the Young Avengers."
no subject
"This planet called Myrg picked it up as their official sport, and we basically had to play to save Earth, or something. Apparently they saw it from Earth broadcasts and copied it, but they claimed they had come up with it in the first place. It was a pretty ridiculous planet," she explains.
"Superhero thing?"
no subject
Kate nodded, "Yeah, there's a couple of us. Seven all together."
no subject
"A whole other superhero universe, then," she remarks. "Young Justice disbanded, so we have the Teen Titans now, but yeah. Small groups, superheroes in training, hanging out with other heroes of their own age group."
no subject
Kate nodded and sighed, "Yeah and so far there's one other from my version of my world I think. If it's the same as Jaime's and Superman there's a lot more in here from yours."
no subject
She tilts her head slightly, "I'm sorry to hear that. I'd hope more of your friends would come, but I wouldn't wish this place on anyone? But yeah, I'm from the same universe as Superman."

Pointing that out seems a bit too tactless. She glances back at Kate, and puts on a slight smile.
"Well, you've been pretty lucky so far. Hopefully it stays that way."
no subject
Kate gave a small but sad look, "Not that lucky. If you heard anything about the Yeerks, that is."
no subject
"No. What happened?"
no subject
"Some of us got infested by alien parasitic slugs who controlled us. Some for longer than others. Had us try to take over the ship, but the others stopped us. People got hurt on both sides, and then when we were captured, we had to wait for the slugs to be starved out of us."
There was a haunted expression in her eyes for a moment.
"They didn't go quietly. Dredged up any bad memories you had, trying to drag us down with them."
no subject
"Oh god," is all Cassie can say for a moment. "I heard them mentioned, but I had no idea what really happened... that's horrible. I'm so sorry."
