Closed to Animorphs and Guards.

His hands itched. So did the backs of his ankles. And his head hurt.

It was rather annoying to not be able to scratch the itch. The headache was more troubling. It was going to get worse, but for the moment it was just an ache behind his eyes, aggravating more for the reminder than the actual physical pain.

He was helpless.

He let his head lull forward, resting his chin on his chest and testing the bindings on his hands. They were solid, and it didn't give in the least. They didn't even have the decency to scratch the damned itch.

He was hungry, and that would get worse as well. He had a feeling the current small portions of food would continue until he starved. He would get the added pleasure of his host's hunger making his own worse.

< They're going to kill you. > Tom's voice was soft, invasive, and annoying.

< That should make you happy. You're getting everything you wanted, aren't you Tommy-boy? >

The host was silent, considering.

Iniss kept his head down, soon, perhaps, one of his jailers would decide to lecture him, and who knew what might happen then?

If he pretended to be asleep, maybe they would just leave him alone.

((Occ: Give me what day you're on when you tag in, and we'll just do it sorta day by day? I guess? Maybe? Suggestions?)

< Is that so? >

< The ones who are in the Resistance. I had wanted to keep Earth out the war, but I didn't. The least I can do is let Marco have his wish of helping his friend's brother. Even if he doesn't know he'd wish that at that time, > Elfangor said.

< In an indirect way, > Elfangor said. He was not going to say they were morph capable. < If I had succeeded in my mission, then they might not have. >

< You are the one infesting someone he knows. You have no right to say what is his business. >

< I couldn't say. He just said Tom was his best friend's brother. > Again, he wasn't going to give information the humans didn't give themselves. If it confused the Yeerk, then that was fine.

< I had wanted to protect the Earth. I knew about it long before most of the Yeerks. I had failed, so in an indirect way, I am responsible they had to fight, > Elfangor said.

< No, > Elfangor said. He hadn't met Jake yet, though he knew he was onboard. And he never got his name. So really, he only knew of Jake, but didn't know him. < Only what has been mentioned to me from Marco. > And Aximili and Tobias, but he didn't add that.

< I would assume there's more than just them, but when it comes to a Resistance, you get what you can, > Elfangor said.

< Unlike Yeerks, they can care about the fate of those who are not just directly tied to them. >

< I've known about Earth for decades. I know he's involved because he could recognize what an Andalite was when he came on board. After it was confirmed he wasn't a Yeerk, I heard what has happened, > Elfangor siad.

< Only from your perspective. Not from others. To others, he's showing compassion for his friend and his family. >

[identity profile] escapednothlit.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 09:57 am (UTC)(link)
< I'm a hero among the Andalites. No one becomes an Andalite hero and not know what is going on, > Elfangor said. < Some have to take it to make sure no more than is necessary is caused by ourselves. >

< I know they do. >

< More that they usually figure it out by that rank. And it is the Yeerks who embrace their sins. We just accept that they are there and try not to repeat them. >

< I believe I will be doing that, then. Stacy might have recorded something. Though don't expect me to believe that was really your host she was talking too, > Elfangor said. After all, it wasn't hard to 'be' someone when you were in them. That was always important to remember. < And absolutely impossible...when it's worse for you to keep it then break it, correct? >

[identity profile] escapednothlit.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
< I deal with it. > It was a very flat, blunt reply. He played the grand hero and did what he had too.

< And even then, it would be easy to be that different him. With him in the back of your mind. >

There was a long silence at that. < My attempt, their attempt, is different from what you might consider an attempt. There is always an attempt as long as it's physically possible. A selfish Yeerk's attempt may only come when there's no true inconvenience for them. >

[identity profile] escapednothlit.livejournal.com 2010-06-07 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
< I imagine you don't. >

< Her abilities? All you would have to do is make sure she doesn't have reason to try to check. >

< I have more reason than you being a Yeerk, > Elfangor said. < And if the human was my ally, then I would have reason to trust them. But not all humans are allies. I am aware it's better to not assume they are all the same. >

< I thought so. >

< And she's also a child, > Elfangor said. < A strange one or not, she could still be fooled. >

< I have been honest in what I offer you. Surrender and you will live. That's all that matters. >

< She is talented, but she is als- > Elfangor stopped there. He wasn't going to give the Yeerk any useful information and if what he said was true, it might not be so much as Dani being the 'capable' kid she was supposed to be as someone who didn't want to see any death. Especially with her own reaction at the death of Brainiac 5. Even if she showed a wariness to Luthor, that was afterwards.

< I would not kill a prisoner, unless it was a stubborn Yeerk who just won't surrender, and especially not someone who was sleeping. > Elfangor said. But he still had guard duty, so he wasn't going anywhere.

< ...she was the youngest allowed to free the bridge. I am aware of her talents, > Elfangor said. And why she might go along with such a despicable creature.

< One is either willing to make concessions to morality, or ignorant. It's impossible to be completely moral, but we try. More so than the Yeerks, > Elfangor said.
