Cleaning the Day Away... [Open]

For the most part, between trying to spend time with the younger kids and her magic studies, Sasami has spent a lot of her time trying to clean up the massive tree-palace that was her first home. It didn't matter if she had help or not - she was enjoying it nonetheless.

It's been a month (maybe two? She can't readily tell) since she started and she had made some good progress with it. However, this latest round of cleaning had left her exhausted. Maybe if she hadn't trained beforehand... Nah, it was just tough, that's all.

Sasami flopped down on a chair to relax, letting out a sigh as she did. "Whew... and that's another one!" she said, letting Ryo-Ohki join her. "Hopefully, I can get this get this place looking much better than it was before!" She scratched the cabbit on her head. "Especially since I'm helping Hay Lin...!" The cabbit let out a meow as Sasami looked up in thought. "...I wonder if there's anything else I could do..."

As soon as she had woken up and realized this wasn't some dream, Koishi decided it was time to seriously explore this ship. This is what led her to the city, taking in all the sights she could as she flew through the air.

She was instantly attracted to the giant tree, due to it's size and how easily it stuck out between the surrounding buildings. She didn't bother calling out to see if it was occupied or not, and headed right in.

Eventually, whether Koishi walks into the occupied room or bumps into her in a hallway, Sasami will eventually notice she's not alone.

Sasami stretched her legs a bit as she realized that she needed to keep going. This place couldn't clean itself! As she stood up, she sat Ryo-Ohki down.

"C'mon, let's keep going!" Sasami said...mere moments before she bumped into the wandering Koishi. "Oh! I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to...!"

Koishi stumbled back a few steps, but quickly regained her balance. She smiled when she saw the other girl, glad that her exploration seemed to have paid off.

"Don't worry about it! I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going either."

"Eheheh... well, that's good..." Sasami said, feeling a bit better - they were both distracted, so it wasn't that bad. She blinked a bit as she realized she didn't recognize this one.

"You must be new here...!" she said. "My name's Sasami! It's good to see you!" the little girl bowed politely at Koishi. "What's your name?"

"I'm Koishi!" The girl said, bowing in return. "It's nice to meet you too."

Sasami let out a giggle as Koishi returned the bow. It felt great to know someone so friendly! Reminded her of Paula a bit.

"I'm curious, though - what brought you here?" Sasami asked.

"This place is pretty noticeable, y'know. Even in a city as big as this one." Koishi responded.

"Places like this really interest me. It seems like something you could find back in Gensokyo."

Sasami laughed nervously. Koishi had a point there!

"It IS pretty big, isn't it?" Sasami said. "Though, Gensokyo? What's that?"

"Gensokyo is Gensokyo!" Koishi said, as if that should explain everything. "It's a land where all kinds of youkai and supernatural beings live."

Sasami blinked in confusion over the first answer, but pretty much understood what she was trying to say the next.

"Wow... I would love to see that...!" Sasami said. "Maybe if everything is back to normal, I could!"

The other girl laughed a little.

"You might not be able to. There's a border surrounding Gensokyo that separates it from the rest of the world."

"Aww...!" Sasami said, a little disappointed. "Oh, well...!" Her smile returned quickly, however. "Are you the only one from there here, though?"

"Nope. My big sister, Satori, is here too!" If it was possible, Koishi sounded a bit happier. It had been a while since she had last seen her sister, so she really considered getting stuck here a good thing.

So Koishi had family here. If anything, she felt a bit jealous at that - no one from her world had shown up this time around and she mistook one of them for her sister.

"I'm glad she's here, then. You won't be alone...!" Sasami said. "I wish I had someone..."

"Even if she wasn't here, I'd be fine. I travel alone a lot, so I don't get lonely!" There was something... strange about the way Koishi said that last bit. Normally when people say something like that, there's some small amount of lying or uncertainty in their voices, but Koishi was being absolutely, one hundred percent honest.

"And I'm sure someone you know will show up eventually. You just gotta be patient!"

Sasami couldn't help but notice how Koishi had said that. She seriously didn't get lonely? If she was in that position, she wouldn't of been able to take it - she was glad she had Paula, Negi, Alessa and a few others around.

"Heh, maybe you're right..." Sasami said. "Um, Koishi? You... um..." Sasami got a bit nervous asking this - she wasn't sure how she'd react to this.

"...you wanna be my friend?"

"Sure!" Koishi said, that ever-present smile quickly shifting into a wide grin. "I think it'd be really nice to have a friend like you, Sasami."

A big grin formed on Sasami's face as Koishi agreed to be her friend.

"Really? Oh, that's so wonderful!" Sasami said, reaching over to pull the girl into a welcoming hug, before pulling away and blushing. "S-Sorry...!"

Koishi stared at her, confused for a moment, then giggled.

"Why are you apologizing? I don't mind! Satori's the one who gets all awkward when people try to do stuff like that."

When she noticed that Koishi didn't mind what she had done, Sasami resumed hugging her new friend. "Okay, then...!" she said, laughing.

Pulling away, an idea came to her head. "Say, how about I show you around here? I'm trying to clean it up and hopefully I could make it more open to others... it does get a bit lonely for something this big!"

"Okay!" Koishi replied. "I can help you clean too, if you want. Outside of our pets, me 'n' Satori were the only ones who lived in the Palace of the Earth Spirits, so I've cleaned really big places before."

... Nevermind the fact that she was rarely home these days.

"Y-You would? You wouldn't mind at all?" Sasami said, surprised. "That would be wonderful!"

An idea came to Sasami's mind a moment later. "How about this: you help me clean and I'll let you stay in here as long as you like! I stay at a bus nearby, but I'd like to come back in here. I know you don't get lonely, but I kinda do, and it wouldn't hurt if I have someone else with me!"

She smiled sweetly as she tilted her head. "Besides, I'm not going to let you do all this work without a form of thanks! It wouldn't be right!"

"Hm... if you want more people to stay here, maybe I can see if sis wants to come too!" Nevermind the fact that Koishi's sister was one of the most antisocial people she knew. Koishi already decided that she was going to help Satori make some friends, and this was a good place to start.

"If you don't mind, that is."

"Oh, I wouldn't mind at all!" Sasami said. "I'd really like to meet more people here and that would really be a start!"

This was one person she was glad to have as a friend. So helpful, too!
