Time For An Upgrade
Vincent cautiously entered the weapons lab. He'd taken into hiding during the fiasco with the slugs. It wasn't his fight, so he wasn't about to risk himself on behalf of the others. It wasn't as if anyone came looking to him for help anyway, so why bother? He wasn't beholden to them.
Meanwhile, he found his armor had been largely stripped of it's higher powered equipment. It was time to do something about that. Keeping an ear out on the others had lead him to this lab, and now it was time to get to work.
"I hope I can find a replacement ion projector..." He muttered to himself as he entered.

If she notices his look, she doesn't give any signs of it.

He spotted a particular piece of machinery and picked it up for examination. "Although engaging direct combat bores me incredibly. I prefer more subtle approaches when possible. The greatest victory isn't about how many throats you slit or how many dreams you crush, but how many fights you can avoid."

Another shrug as she watches him, "I generally don't fight that much, anyway. It's just something to kill time, occasionally." Or when she needs to save Zuko's butt.

"Would you like a launcher for that? I could probably put it together for you in a few minutes."
Oh, and here's a high-tension coil for it right now. Come here little piece of scrap.
"I understand what you mean about killing time. Weapons are fun to build and all, but it's really just mental exercise to stay sharp. I prefer--" Something occurred to him. "If you don't mind my asking actually, what sort of technological level is your world of origin at?"

She tilts her head at his question. Oh, isn't that complicated.
"Well, I don't really pay much attention to that kind of thing. We have steel steam ships, armored warcars that run on steam, war-balloons, zeppelins..." She shrugged again, "Not sure how that matches up."

"Interesting...." He started stripping apart some casing to make a comfortable handle that could hold a CO2 canister. He'd make one if he couldn't find one. "What about.. oh, excuse me. I don't believe I got your name." He extended a hand. "Vincent Amorason."

"I'm Mai."

"Nice to meet you." He finishes up the knife launcher and puts it aside. He'll do the metal-shaping for the blade cartridge later. Now comes looking for components for his armor. He starts digging through a pile of what might be video projection equipment.
"How about magic? Aliens? Extra-dimensional incursions?"
