A needle-tipped tendril--laced with just enough kryptonite to pierce his skin unhindered--pricks Clark's arm, and any emotions still in his mind would begin to fuzz-out slightly.
After a few silent moments, the memories begin to creep back into his mind.
Metropolis. It felt good for Clark, finally being able to patrol the city he called home after being powerless for nearly a year.
Yet even as he flew over the city, keeping a watchful eye over it, the calm that pervaded the day was instantly torn asunder as thousands upon thousands of shimmering lights filled the streets of the city, and literally millions of strange creatures begin to pour out of them, swarming over buildings and slaughtering anything in their path.
Heroes from all over the city head out to fight this unknown threat, but even they stand little chance. Clark watches as one by one his contemporaries die, torn apart by these powerful creatures.
He hears a voice cry out from the streets below, yelling that they were finally free. Clark looked down to see Cyborg Superman, himself engaged in fighting these creatures as they attempted to slay him as they had so many others. He was finally killed when a massive, 30-foot tall creature appeared, grabbing him in one of its powerful claws and crushing him to death.
The massive creature now looks to Clark, who had barely had any time to react to the massacre that had so quickly appeared. It jumped, flying straight up into the air and slamming into Clark, bringing them both crashing into the ground. It raised one of its massive claws in preparation to slam it down on the hero.
Suddenly, an extremely bright light begins to cloud her vision, and she is in a dark room on a metal table, being held down by figures that are too hard to make out.
Then, everything fades back to darkness. The memory ends.
