More "Pink Ladies" then "Greased Lighting"...
As interesting as the Sensoriums were to Rei, he hadn't spent much time in them. And up till now, it had always been in someone else's creation. Truth was, he was afraid of them. He knew himself, knew that he wanted nothing more then to be back on Earth with the people he cared about. He knew he'd be tempted to make Rio, to make Denver, to make fake versions of his family, his team, the other Guardians. And he knew that doing that would break his heart.
But he still wanted to explored the Sensoriums. They were just so cool, like something out of a sci-fi show. He couldn't resist.
It took him a lot of thinking before he finally came up with something that he could use to test the strange rooms, that was familiar, but wouldn't remind him too much of the life he'd been separated from. Eventually, though, he found just the right thing.
It was a long stretch of city road, with plenty of curved and pot-holes, but wide enough for more then one car. It was completely devoid of most markers of human life, like other cars, or other people. Sitting in one lane of the road was his baby, a 1959 hot pink Cadillac, though to him, it had always appeared gray. "Oh, honey, I missed you too," he said to the car as he slid in behind the wheel. He revved the engine and grinned.
Anyone up for a little street racing?
