Like a Boxing Match But Not [Open]
It had taken a little planning and some inquiries to the ship but the two kids were preparing for their match. Negi finished his stretches and looked over to Chamo. "Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Trust me Aniki, this'll be just like sparring with your teachers," assured Chamo. "You two will be okay."
Negi nodded. He was currently shirtless again, his still damaged plantsuit tied around his waist. His scars were showing but he was prepared for the match.
His opponent? Vivio Takamachi. The pair had hit it off quite well and when the discovery that they could both grow up AND did martial arts came up, well, a powered match was nothing short of exciting to the pair.
Getting into position, he nodded to Chamo. Sparring in an outdoor area would give them more space to work with.
"This is a submission match!" exclaimed Chamo, waving little flags. "Both will fight until one cannot continue. No time limit. In this corner, the daughter of Nanoha Takamachi, the powerful mage-girl herself, Viviooooooooo Takamaaaaaachiiiiiiii!"
"And in this corner, the son of the Thousand Master, said to have known a thousand spells, the child prodigy himself, Negiiiiii Sprinnnnnnggggfiiiiieeeeld!"
"Fighters to your sides, and lets get ready to ruuuummmmbllllleeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Letting out a sigh, she straightened out the pair of old clothes she fetched out and wore over her plant suit.
"I still feel a bit weary about this..." Vivio said. "...think we should have done this in the Sensoriums?"
Well, if Vivio had known about the all-out sparring match with Signum and Nanoha, then yeah, she would have suggested it...

He grinned as he slid into stance. "You ready Vivio? Don't worry about hurting me or anything."
"You'd best not hold back either Aniki! Show her who's king of the mountain!" yelled Chamo from the sidelines.
Negi chuckled and nodded to Vivio.

Sure, ladies first and all, but she wanted to see what he could do.

Recovering a bit, she pushed herself back into the fight, deliver a sharp high kick to the head.

The girl's magic power was undeniable, and her techniques were practiced well enough, but she had no edge, no killer instinct. The two were children at play, no more, and for all the match meant to her they might as well have been going at it in Street Fighter or the like.
But she kept an eye on it anyway. She had little enough better to do, and if the boy got complacent and slipped up she'd never let him hear the end of it.

However, now someone else was catching her eye: it was the girl from last time, the one who had been giving the speech. Strangely enough, she looked bored. Alessa at least could see how this could pass for amusement fora little while.
"Not having fun?" Alessa commented.

"There's no tactics and no pressure. It's a decent lightshow, and that's it."
In other words, 'yes'.

She turned to Evangeline. "But you aren't like that, are you?"
(this response before negi uses magia erebia, that's going to get a pretty strong reaction)
The pace and strength of the attacks was intensifying, yes, but they just weren't trying to outrace the other or pursue openings or do anything that would bring things to a close.
"A child? A protector? No. I'm nothing like that," Evangeline smirked. "Just the opposite. A selfish old monster."
Re: (this response before negi uses magia erebia, that's going to get a pretty strong reaction)
Alessa snickered. "Anyone can be a selfish monster, I've seen demons do it fairly easy. It also makes them terribly single minded and predictable. If I wanted to, I could that as well, its perfectly in my nature. But I save that for our missions for a reason. For someone like you, its much easier to fly under people's radar."

"I'm especially good at it, though. Hence the 'old.' The wages of sin grow lighter the longer you indulge."

Fletcher was almost a little jealous of what they could do.

"No, we don't. All of that shouldn't even be possible."

He watched the battle for a while. Negi was really good; he wondered if he could actually keep up with some of the enemies he and the other Riders had faced.
"Wow...I guess that ferret wasn't exaggerating when he said that Negi was good." He said, half to himself.

And that included, apparently, letting Chamo foster overinflated opinions of him in the general populace.

"Hmm...you must be one of Negi's comrades from his home world." Tsukasa replied, feeling the lack of his comrades' prescience keenly.

"He is my apprentice. His performance reflects on me." Still not comrades.

Guess who's watching the fight and gauging how it's going?
Love, Mommy.
