There were several doors leading out of the observation deck. Haley had chosen to exit through the one closest to them, as it seemed just as good as any of the others. A long greenish hall stretched before them, filled with the same humid air. There were doors leading off at fairly regular intervals. Haley cracked her knuckles and adjusted her hat, before turning with a smirk to her companion.

"So where to first, princess?"

Haley glanced over at Ben, eyebrow raised. 'Jedi'? Wasn't that something from that one movie? She frowned as she tried to separate Star Wars and Star Trek in her head. Either way, if this kid was someone who ran around pretending like he was some hero from a sci fi movie, he deserved to be mocked. Haley smirked over at Vestara, allowing their hands to swing higher. "Jedi, huh? ... Hey, aren't they the ones with the laser swords and the sticks up their asses?"

Vestara nodded very solemnly. "Indeed, those are the ones we speak of."

Ben regretted having already rolled his eyes theatrically in this conversation. "You're fifty-fifty," he told the new girl, then pointed at Vestara. "And she's full of it."

Haley raised an eyebrow as she smirked over at the new kid. "Yeah ... full of awesome maybe," she snarked. "Isn't that right, princess?"

"That's right," Ves eagerly agreed. "I am packed entirely full of 'awesome' material, as are you, Haley Graham."

She shook her head. "Jedi, however, tend not to appreciate it."

"Right," he said, throwing up his hands in an exasperated gesture of mock surrender. "You keep doing the self-congratulating girl-talk thing, and I'll just ignore you unless Vestara starts chopping up children."

Haley glanced over at Vestara, eyebrow raised. "Self-congratulating girl-talk thing?" she repeated. "Wow, that's the sound of a guy who's never been on a date before, am I right?"

She smirked over at Ben. "Chopping up children? Is that your version of pulling her pigtails? Cause seriously dude, I'll let you in on the big secret here-" she leaned over as if she were about to whisper something of great importance to Ben. "Girls like it when guys can hold actual mature conversations. But, you know," she shrugged as she pulled back, "honestly that's way above most guys, so don't hurt yourself tryin'."

"I think you are correct," Vestara had long-suspected Haley's assessment and was intrigued further. Did Ben not 'understand' females? Didn't he have a mother or sisters?

Perhaps if I pretend to achieve a sisterhood of friendship with Haley, we may freely discuss blatant female topics such as our mutual menses. Ben Skywalker's head will surely explode. That would be nice.

"Ben's maturity has been stunted somehow. I don't take it personally. Besides," she smiled sweetly, hoping Haley would interpret it as a joke, "I have not killed another child since I was one as well. Fair is fair."

"Not that you and your tribe have had a lot of luck killing anyone older than that recently," he pointed out, then glanced at Vestara's new friend -- she did have a knack for ingratiating herself with strangers, he'd give her that. "Look, I don't know what your dimension is like, but in ours, we're from two enemy martial orders -- think centuries-old rivalries and a lot of decapitation. I don't care what she likes."
