Sunlight in a Jar [Open]

Her hair was officially in her eyes now, uneven bangs tickling the tip of her nose, while the rest of it fell almost to the tops of her shoulders. The bangs were proving the most problem; they slipped out of her ever-present headband and got in her face, sometimes made Bandit sneeze when they tickled his nose.

And there was nothing worse than dog sneeze all over one's face.

Now, her face washed and (mostly) dry, and with a bit of time before her next class (it was better to wait until her legs stopped feeling rubbery from Master Chief's physical training) Sherry sat down in the media library, and studied.

There had to be a way to cut her hair without fearing that someone would butcher it. Maybe she could do it! She seemed competent enough with everything else, after all, so how hard would cutting one's own hair be?

Sherry bit her lip as she searched and read, "...But where am I going to find scissors?"

Kang had started visiting the media library more often, becoming more curious about Earth the more he learned about it. He figured it wouldn't hurt anyways, since so many of the humans on Stacy were from that world. He heard the girl sitting in the library with a book before he saw her, and asked, "What do you need them for? I don't know what scissors are, but maybe I can tell you where to find them or something else that'll work."

The voice should have given Kang away as not being human, with how deep it was, and some of the sounds that were slightly off or not capable of being produced by a human mouth. Considering for a moment, he looked at her hair (he was glad he didn't have to deal with the hassle of hair), then down at his belt, "You could always use a dagger. I have one on me."

"That's what humans on my world used," Kang pointed out, somewhat amused. They seemed to work well enough from what he'd heard.

...and then the girl saw him. He could tell very easily that she was scared, so he made sure not to move any closer to her or bring his hands anywhere near the weapons on his belt. "If you change your mind, I'll be in here for a while. Just ask."

He really needed to get used to dealing with human children.

Kang's wings rustled awkwardly. "Compared to you, I suppose I am." That was an odd thing for her to say, but fear did that to a person.

Hey, nothing wrong with humor. Kang took that as a good sign. "You've still got some growing to do."

At that, Kang laughed. He'd only recently found out what a dinosaur was, and while there was a slight resemblance, they were quite a bit different from draconians. "I'm not a dinosaur, ma'am. And my name is Kang."
