Cosplay Maniacs [Open]

It had been an idle thought that started to grow.

Since the whole clothing-fighting naked disaster during the Nightmare King, Rein had been packing more than one set of plantsuit on her person. Even while the barrier jacket was nice and comfy, it was also impractical for every day life. As such, she had gone out hunting for a place and found what she was looking for. With a modern set of sewing materials, all she needed was cloth.

Cloth was a rare thing on Stacy, most of it pre-fabricated and brought up from the last big mission off world. As such, Rein had gone to W&P in search of said items. It had taken the better part of a week to find what she was looking for, and another three to four days hauling all of the cloth up, but the vast collection of cloth, lace and other fabrics were finally in place.

Switches were flipped and Rein sat down at the nearest machine, working on it. She had cast a minor animation spell on a couple of machines and they were automatically forming belts and sashes while the intricate needlework was up to her.

Soon though, she was busy working as she whistled a jaunty tune, ironically Whistle While You Work. The sign to the building was fresh and polished, reading Stormwind Clothiers and the outside of the building was wood-and-brick. The inside was meshed with old and new, mixed foot pedal and even small light armors.

Rein wore a little grin, a sign of victory as she held up her first creation, a pretty dress, pink and red and white with ruffles.

It was a dead ringer for Sakura Kinomoto's most iconic dress from her series.

Yes, Rein was making cosplay.

Beware the desu.

He blinks for a moment, not really having expected the question. There is one piece of clothing he hadn't been able to find in Weapons and Possessions - his vest. If she's got the right material, though, he thinks he can describe it well enough to recreate the item. And he was very fond of that vest.

"Well, it would depend. Do ye have any sheepskin?"

Jamie wanders over to take a good look at the skins, although he's careful not to touch without permission. He studies the hide for a moment. Beige-tan color, white fleece on the inside... "Aye, that would be it."

Now, how to describe it? "There's a vest I used to have made of sheepskin. It came down to about here on me." He demonstrates with his hand - it looks like it falls about halfway between his waist and his knee. "Do ye think ye could make something like that, if I could tell ye what it looked like?" Thinking about it for a moment, he adds, "I could draw it, too, if I had something to draw with."

"Tea? Och, thank ye, tea would be grand." Jamie gives Rein a grateful smile, then takes a seat and settles down to the business of sketching out his vest.

"Pockets. It needs to have pockets," he mutters to himself after sketching out the basic shape. "And then it had some of the fleece on the outside like this..."

It's easy for him to get caught up in drawing out the details of the vest, and he's forgotten Rein and the magically enhanced machines for the moment.

"Hmm?" Jamie looks up from the sketch and smiles. "Oh, the tea. Thank ye verra much." He bends his head for a moment to finish off the last details of the vest.
He's not the best artist, but is able to at least make the details on the vest pretty clear. It helps that it's meant to look like a less polished item of clothing.

"The fleece is mostly dark brown, except for these spots." He points out the whiter areas, and frowns a little. "I don't know if ye can dye it, though. It'd be okay if ye can't. What do ye think?"

He takes one of the cups of tea and looks at Rein, his expression hopeful.

"A day?" That was even better than Jamie had hoped for. "Aye, that would be great! But..." He breaks off, pursing his lips in contemplation. What can he offer in return?

"How much would ye want for it? I have a wee bit left over from when we went to that alternate Earth, but I'm not sure it'd be enough to cover the cost of making the vest."

"Aye, well..." Jamie says, sounding rather uncertain. It doesn't really seem right, taking the vest for free. After a moment, he shakes his head.

"There has to be something I can do in return for ye, if ye don't want money." He looks around the shop thoughtfully. "Wait. How did ye get all this cloth, anyway?"
bonnypiperlad: (So...)

That's actually not too far off from what Jamie was thinking - although only about half of that suggestion had come immediately to mind.

"I could fetch things for ye, sure." He's not entirely certain about making deliveries, but how bad could it be? It doesn't look like she makes anything that would be too difficult to carry. "And...I guess I could do deliveries if ye want."

He may regret that later.

"So do we have a deal, then?"

There's a brief nod from Jamie. He should really get back to helping with the cleanup, anyway. Setting the now empty-tea cup down, he says, "Right. Let me know when ye need me, aye? And thank ye for the tea."

Lifting his hand in a farewell wave, he heads towards the exit.
