Cosplay Maniacs [Open]

It had been an idle thought that started to grow.

Since the whole clothing-fighting naked disaster during the Nightmare King, Rein had been packing more than one set of plantsuit on her person. Even while the barrier jacket was nice and comfy, it was also impractical for every day life. As such, she had gone out hunting for a place and found what she was looking for. With a modern set of sewing materials, all she needed was cloth.

Cloth was a rare thing on Stacy, most of it pre-fabricated and brought up from the last big mission off world. As such, Rein had gone to W&P in search of said items. It had taken the better part of a week to find what she was looking for, and another three to four days hauling all of the cloth up, but the vast collection of cloth, lace and other fabrics were finally in place.

Switches were flipped and Rein sat down at the nearest machine, working on it. She had cast a minor animation spell on a couple of machines and they were automatically forming belts and sashes while the intricate needlework was up to her.

Soon though, she was busy working as she whistled a jaunty tune, ironically Whistle While You Work. The sign to the building was fresh and polished, reading Stormwind Clothiers and the outside of the building was wood-and-brick. The inside was meshed with old and new, mixed foot pedal and even small light armors.

Rein wore a little grin, a sign of victory as she held up her first creation, a pretty dress, pink and red and white with ruffles.

It was a dead ringer for Sakura Kinomoto's most iconic dress from her series.

Yes, Rein was making cosplay.

Beware the desu.

Katara was always one for visiting the city, even more so now that she located Static and was trying to get back in touch with her fellow Outsiders again. When she spied the shop, her curiosity got the better of her and she entered. While she wasn't one for creating her own clothes, just mending and sewing her brothers, she did let out a gasp at all of the fine clothing before her. Reinforce's first creation left her stunned. While it was probably something more intricate than what she would wear, it was still really pretty.

"Did you make this?" Katara asked, still looking impressed.

Katara had forgotten how cute Rein was, and it ad been awhile since they talked. She walked over to give the dress a closer inspection, noting the threading, the ruffles, and how breezy it felt to touch. She smiled.

"I really like it!" She said. "What made you think of making a shop like this anyway?"

"I guess you're right," Katara said, still trying to take it all in. "I never really get to wear outfits that are cute: everything is supposed to be for necessity, you know? But it would be nice to wear clothes I can wear just because they're nice. And Jamie did mention that he thought she'd look god in her different clothing. Not that she would do this for HIM, of course.

"What do you think would suit me?" Katara asked. "Be honest!"

"Blue would be nice!" Katara said. "And I can deal with cute! My only question is...what is a CLAMP, and what is a pantsuit?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-04-08 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, so CLAMP was...still something Katara had no idea what it was. Mangaka? Comic series? These were all terms Katara might have heard on the ship but was unfamiliar with. The pantsuit explanation was just as confusing until Rein had drawn the picture. Katara looked at it and smiled. It was cute.

"Now could you show me an example of this 'CLAMP' stuff?"

Katara took a good look, marveling at the four designs, but one in particular did catch her eye. She was sure that it would suit Toph more, but she rather liked it, even though she was a girly girl at heart. There was just something about the design that made her instantly attracted to it.

"Could....you make me something like what that boy on the right hand side is wearing. Um, I don't have money, so is there any way I could work out some sort of compensation for you?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-04-08 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really?" This was the last answer that Katara had expected to hear, and when she did, she had no choice but to hug Rein ecstatically, giggling. "You mean it? That's so great! Thank you so very much! But please allow me to do something nice for you in return someday, if you ever need it!"

Katara grinned, then looked a little concerned. "Um, Rein? Were you...okay, after the Nightmare King?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-04-09 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"You and me both," Katara said. "I had to do a lot of training, mental and physical, but luckily it paid off. I was...kind of a wreck then."

Katara did get a little tight lipped here. "There were a lot of things said, to be honest. I'm not exactly happy about how things turned out, but hopefully we'll be more prepared next time. I know Nanoha did everything she could."

Katara sighed. "I got some wounds too, both physical...and mental. There's a lot I don't remember anymore."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-04-09 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I hope so. I wouldn't want to have Nanoha have to shoulder all of that again. It was hard enough trying to resist the things I saw...no one should have had to deal with all of that. As for what was said...well." Katara had her own opinions of the matter. "Some things need to be, but not the way it was done. It was too similar to the last time."

She sighed. "I want us to be able to fight against whatever happens to us again, But if that's going to happen, we have to be able to work together, or it'll only be until we avoid another disaster."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-04-09 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"We have more people, so it might become more difficult," Katara said. "But who knows? We might gain a few people on board who are really pushing toward getting everyone together. I know I'll be doing all that I can to help that along."

Katara giggled. "Yeah, I saw a little of that. I shouldn't have said anything about it though: that helped to start that fight with her and Fate. I still feel really bad about that."

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll bet on it!" Katara said, grinning. "Let's do our best, okay?"

Here, Katara looked a little happy. "Yes, they're very sweet. I never thought of two girls liking each other in that way, but love is...well, its an amazing thing to see between two people no matter how you look at it. When you find true love, you never let that go, and it doesn't matter what anyone says. Its beautiful. I'm really glad they aren't fighting anymore."

And Katara felt that pang in her heart, but ignored it. She had no right to feel that, she thought, when it made other people happy. She just wished she had her own chance to find love like that.
