Frustration [Open]

The scene was a campus, specifically a plaza in front of a towering tree nearly 100 feet tall. There, a young boy was fighting at incredibly high speeds, like a man possessed against multiple opponents. Having learned the power of the sensoriums, he had called up several people: Ku Fei, Setsuna Sakurazaki, Kaede Nagisa, and engaged them one on one in a series of violent escapdaes before they all laid into him as one.

Ducking a powerful open palm strike, Negi reversed the attack, driving Ku backwards into Setsuna who oofed, but the motion left him up for a clip upside the head from Kaede. He growled, spun around and met the ninja head on, the sound of powerful impacts reverberating like a staggering noise of thunder as they moved faster and faster, speeding up until there was a delayed stuttering noise. Quite abruptly Negi's opponent shifted into the face of Fate Avvernnicus and it spat one word: "Useless."

With a terrible cry, Negi atomized the construct with a punch. He stayed in position for a few seconds. And then the sound of the impact actually hit, rattling the scenery.

The other constructs vanished as Negi panted, his magic swirling and churning like a maelstrom. "Not enough..."

Getting up, the tattoos on his arms lit up with magic and he prepared to empower himself as a long string of Ancient Greek was subvocalized, thunder beginning to crackle in his hands. There was a soft warning in his head, chiding him for what he was about to do but he ignored it. "Thousand Bolts!"

The powerful high level magic spell erupted into being, swirling at the edge of his hands as he commanded "Stagnet!" And before it could discharge, it spun into a tight ball.

Suddenly, a terrible pain shot through his chest and he coughed, grasping his mouth as it became damp. Blood...? How?

That same voice warned him he was straining himself, that he wasn't fully healed. Reluctantly, he dismissed the spell. Something wasn't right.

Even with her new friend, Sasami couldn't find anyone from her world. For the moment, though, she opted to wait in her search and decided to wander around. As she did, she came across the Sensoriums. Entering the room, she watched as Negi reached the tail end of his fight... then hunch over in pain.

"Oh, no... a-are you okay?!" Sasami called out, racing over to him.

Sasami isn't too confident on Negi's condition, but at the same time, she didn't want to worry him as well. She returned the smile and nodded.

"I'm Sasami. It's nice to meet you, Negi." she said. "Um... what were you doing?"

Sasami turned back to look at the fighters just before they disappeared. She blinked a few times before she turned back to Negi.

"Who were they? Were they from your world?" Sasami asked.

"You're a teacher?" Sasami said, blinking at that revelation. "Wow, I didn't know you could be one at such a young age!"

"But, it must be hard..."

Sasami chuckled a bit. "Who knows? Might be able to do it here... though, I dunno if some people would enjoy that!"

She let out a sigh as she rubbed her head a bit. "...it's strange, though. I've really never been anywhere before by myself and this...."

"Heh... maybe you're right..." Sasami said, remembering that not only did she run into him, but also Matt and Paula...

...and then her thoughts went back to her missing family and the fact that she hadn't found them. Her smile faded away and she turned to cling to Negi, the sounds of whimpering being heard.

She couldn't take it anymore - she had to cry somehow, somewhere.

Sasami didn't mean to outright cry like she did. But, what can you expect for someone who just had everything ripped away...?

After awhile, though, she pulled away from Negi, her lower lip still trembling. "I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to start doing that, but... I..."

"I'm scared..."

An orphan. That's what she was, too. That's what everyone was, pretty much. Though she was told that her family was probably in the pods, it didn't make her feel happy... she'd feel a bit better if they were here, in person.

"...you didn't fail... we... we couldn't of known... we didn't... I..." Sasami muttered before shaking her head. "I'm sorry. I'm making you upset, too..."

Sasami was going to respond to what he had said until she heard that he hadn't slept.

"That's not good at all! You'll hurt yourself if you don't get any rest!" Sasami said. She pulled away from his hug and took his hands. "I... I know someone who has some rooms we can stay at! I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you stayed there, too!"

"Really, it's fine!" Sasami said. "I'm sure the others there wouldn't mind, either!"

Negi was a stubborn one, that's for sure. But, Sasami wasn't going to give up. Not yet.
