Wedge waited quietly at the front of the squadrons ersatz assembly room, watching and waiting as pilots took their seats. An eclectic and strange group, to be sure, but he was determined to mold them into a fighting force to be reckoned with. They had the potential. They just needed a push in the right direction. He took a breath, waited as the last few pilots took their seats, then began.

"Welcome. I'm glad to see that all of you managed to make it through our latest ordeal in good health, and I hope you've all had a chance to rest up and recover from the experience. First of all, I'd like to introduce you to two new members of our squadron." He gestured to the two people standing behind him and off to one side.

"This is Colonel Tycho Celchu and Lieutenant-Colonel Jaina Solo. They're both experienced pilots and they'll be helping with training and getting the squadron into shape. And to that purpose, I'd like all of you to go around the room and introduce yourselves so that they know who they're working with. Your name and a little something about yourself." He nodded at the first person who came to mind and waited for their introduction.

Tycho nodded as Wedge introduced him, eyes scanning the room. He recognized a few people, Asuka, Lafiel, Wyn and Sam, but most of the faces were unfamiliar to him. He waited for the first person to begin their introduction.

"... right, I'll go first then." Wyn says, giving the rest of the room a tiny wave and slightly awkward smile. "Hi, I'm Wyn Callahan, and I'm your chief mechanic. I'm from Earth, Ireland specifically, and odds are that if you hear really loud music coming from the hangar, it's me working."

Lafiel bowed to the assembled people. "I am deca-commander Abriel Ne Dobruscr Boer Paryunu Lafiel, of the Abh Imperial Star Forces, operations and intelligence officer." Whew, that was a moutful.

Asuka flashed a smug grin at the other pilots, "I'm Asuka Langley Soryu. I'm from Germany on Earth and I'm one of the best. I'll be piloting and I'm going to be the best."

Sam raised his hand with a smile. If it was a little strained, well...everybody was, still. "Hi. I'm Sam Winchester. I fly Rogue Two and I haven't crashed anything yet?"

That was about as fun as the facts about him got.

Danny rolled his eyes at Asuka's comments. "I'm Danny Fenton, superhero with ghost powers. Long story that I've really gotten tired of telling by this point."

Jamie lifted one hand in a hesitant wave. "Jamie Hemeros. I'm from a planet called Zi. I was the strategist, mechanic and auxiliary pilot on a tournament team of mech pilots back home."

Arha had been silent for a long while, sitting next to Asuka (and her soft amusement at Asuka's exclamation--and others' responses--glinted for a moment), listening to the rest of them intently, her expression openly curious as she studied her fellow squadron members as they spoke. She studied Colonel Celchu a bit more afterwards, her blue-within-blue eyes steady as she finally spoke. She was dressed in her orange flight suit--just in case they'd be flying--and her bright red hair was tightly, if elaborately braided. She sat at ease, her arm draped over her helmet as she radiated the muted joy of just being there.

"I am Arha Masaari, Rogue Three pilot, Jed-Eye Padyone to Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Reverend Mother. I come from the desert planet most often called Arrakis or Dune, though it is not a planet known to those not of my own universe." Arha flashed a brilliant smile, her voice lilting over her words in a smooth, exotic accent. "I am pleased to have the honor of flying with you all and look forward to more training in any such areas I may be allowed to learn."

The reddish blur that had been zipping around the room finally stopped and sat back in his chair, looking dejected. "No one brought any food," he said sadly. "Oh, um, I'm Impulse. I'm the fastest kid alive and I own a spaceship at home that me and my friends once flew to Myrg to save the world by playing baseball." No, he's not kidding.

Deprived of the invaluable resources of the batcomputer, Bruce can't say for sure whether Impulse is likely to be more or less annoying with low blood sugar. Deciding it's not worth the risk, he tosses an energy bar from his utility belt in the pint-sized speedster's direction.

He's Batman. He enjoys kicking ass and taking names.

Jaina shifts slightly behind Wedge, "You already got my introduction. I fly unlucky number thirteen," her eyes dart briefly to their commanding officer for confirmation, "I'm a Jedi Knight and I've been with the squadron for four years. I was instructed by the two men in front of you and you'll be pleased to know I'm not dead yet."

Luke stepped forward, nodding his head to those who had already introduced themselves. "I'm Luke Skywalker," he said. "Jedi Grandmaster. I've flown with both Wedge and Tycho for a long time and they're both good friends of mine, and Jaina here is my niece. I look forward to flying with all of you."

Why look at that strapping man with those muscles. Seriously ladies, please look.

"I'm Major Charles Kawalsky."

"Thanks, all of you, for coming. I need to talk to all of you about our training and some changes in the schedule, as well as what we'll be working on in the coming days. To start, Rogue Squadron's mission is changing somewhat. We'll be beginning some training in commando tactics and techniques in order to broaden our usefulness as a task force. Until all of you are familiar and comfortable in an x-wing, though, this will be secondary, one or two days a week." He paused and glanced at his datapad, moving down the list.

"Secondly and more importantly, we're going to be cracking open an x-wing. Tomorrow, in the Sensoriums, we'll begin mechanics training. So far we have a ground crew of one, so all you will need to able to do work on your own fighters. It's important. Proper maintenance can mean the difference between life or death out there. We're also going to be running more flight school, especially for those of you who need more practice. I know all of you have the potential and ability to become excellent pilots. You have some of the best in the galaxy teaching you, so I want you to pay attention to what they have to say."

"Finally, Colonel Tycho Celchu is now third officer of the squadron. I expect all of you to treat him with the same respect that you treat myself and Commander Skywalker. The same goes for Lieutenant-Colonel Solo. We're here to help you get the most out of yourself and your snubfighter and we all have plenty of experience doing this. Now, are there any questions?"

"I've got one, actually. Do we have any idea what kind of external defences this ship is packing?" Jaina shrugs, "We'll be flying cover for her eventually, we ought to know where she's weakest."

"Unfortunately, we don't." He tapped through some information on his datapad. "As far as I know, only one or two people have been outside the ship so far in their own craft. As soon as I can find that information, the squadron will be the first to know."

Tycho nodded. "I asked Nanoha if anyone had done external flyovers of the ship and she didn't know. I think that should be one of our priorities." He was tapping away on his datapad as well.

"Oh, and Wedge introduced me, but I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Colonel Tycho Celchu, as Wedge said. I was his XO the whole time he was in command of Rogue Squadron, and then when they promoted him to general, I took over the command. I'm really looking forward to working with all of you to make this Rogue Squadron the best it can be."
