Vivio The Librarian [OPEN]

For the most part, Vivio was pretty unimpressed with how disorganized things were in the Media Library. It seemed that many who were in here for one reason or another was more prone to either toss away everything or put them back where they didn't belong. Did they really treat their libraries back home like this?

Shaking her head, Vivio began her work, making sure things were straightened up in the place. No one asked her to, she volunteered herself to do so. Was she expecting something for this? Of course not - after what she went through, she just wanted to do something relaxing. And if reorganizing the library was that, then so be it.

As the little girl did her work, her device Sacred Heart followed suit, trying its best to help Vivio out in anyway it can.

"...I wonder if this place has a librarian..." Vivio said to herself. "...I wonder if they'll let me if they don't."

Ben was planning on finding a book chip for his omnicom when he noticed the young girl picking up things and wandering around. "Hey that's Takamachi's kid isn't it...?"

Jogging up, he called out, "Hey!"

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey no problem, I was looking around also. I'm Ben by the way."

He picked up a handful of data chips and clucked his tongue. "Man, these are all out of order. Need any help with putting things away or are you looking around too?"

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Tell me about it. Worse than my room at times." He folded his arms and sighed. "looks like everything's just strewn out of order. And these chips are kind of small too. It'll take hours to put them all back together, and straighten the cases... but heck, I have nothing to do."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Sounds pretty infinite," said Ben as he started to file a few data chips away into the proper place. "You'd think this place would have a librarian or at least a few extras."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Really? Huh. But it's just way too big for one person." said Ben with a shake of his head. "Even if you can dedicate hours, it'll be a mess as soon as someone walks in the door."

He grinned. "Why don't I give you a hand with it? I mean, the Outsiders isn't going to need me all the time, and I certainly don't have alien threats breathing down my neck every Tuesday."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Ben grinned and rubbed his head. "That's the beauty of it. Due to my Omnitrix, I can be there within seconds. I already know the way there from here. I've got super speed in one of my old forms and if anything, I can fly to make up the most of it."

"I wouldn't worry too much. Unless I was called for training I won't leave you hanging."

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm... we could probably clear it with the higher ups just to let them know real quick that we're taking it over. And hopefully Stacy has no problem with us running her library either," said Ben with an amicable shrug.

[identity profile] bears-omnitrix.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ben nodded and grinned. "Naw we don't. I'll place a call into the Command. Hope they're not too busy with whatever the maniac of the day is producing."

Ben pulled his Omnicom out of his pocket and started to flip through the posts. He winced. "Eeeergh... maybe we should just take over for now and tell people later... looks like people are in an uproar... Geez, it's barely been a day."

Indy had kept parts of the library organized. Parts being the keyword. Also, organized in that special Indiana way where no one but him bothered to ever look at these datapads so he stacked them in a seemingly random way that only made sense to him off in his back corner of the library. He wasn't exactly the most well-ordered fellow.

His head popped up from some reading about a far off alien civilization (He was examining the differences between it and the Mesopotamians) when he heard the other woman, "Hello?"

[identity profile] prof-indiana.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Indy shook his head, "Not at all, just didn't expect anyone else to be in here."

[identity profile] prof-indiana.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not the most popular place," he shuffled through his own datapads, "Generally things are just left wherever people put them down. I try to put a few things away but there's too much to do alone."

[identity profile] prof-indiana.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Part of the problem is no one really knows where to start. I've sorted through some of the library," he gestures to his, well, piles of data-pads, "But organization is lacking."

((OOC: Oops, sorry for taking forever and a half to reply to this. Been distracted the past few days.))

The scholar in Indiana was pleased with this news. More people working for organization would certainly help his own endeavors in the library. He nodded, "I'd be happy to help you with that Ms..." He trailed off without a name.

"Indiana's fine," he nodded back.

Meluly peeks around a corner at Vivio. Phew, it isn't Lafiel. But the girl is—what's she doing?

Meluly pads out from her hiding spot, wearing the sleek little red dress (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IFTkvZRCqQQ/Sey2nXMv9PI/AAAAAAAABD4/F4LqOOwn-do/s400/red.jpg) she liberated from the ship's limited clothing supplies.

"...that one should be between 'B-A' and 'B-B'," she offers, pointing to one particular item with a title in alien text that seems to keep glitching back and forth between translating properly or not—one of the idioms involved confuses the system, it seems.

[identity profile] aworldnevermade.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
"That's the problem with different languages," Luly says, a little more comfortable now she's sure there's only the girl around. "A lot of it's all depending on the situation. Any rules are mostly just..." She wiggles her fingers, trying to come up with the right word. "Arbitrary?"

[identity profile] aworldnevermade.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Thousands. At least. And that's just the ones that are obviously languages and not just gibberish..." Meluly rubs her head a little.

[identity profile] aworldnevermade.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm good." Meluly smiles at Vivio, though it's a nudge weak. "...mostly good. I guess I'm still kind've out of it some. This stuff really took a toll on me."

This was where the false demon attempted to trap her, however. Even if her first introduction to it was in an attack, it was a library. Libraries are where Yue finds herself most at home. Usually, but this was a bit trying to her senses. Libraries had books, this was... not a library as she knew the term. She summoned her book, wondering if here, in a library, it might function a little better.

Yue looked around and noticed another girl. She had been explained exactly what happened, and accepted it as true. So there was no reason to be uneasy, at least over her crew mates. Everything else, it was perfectly reasonable for her to be uneasy. "Hello," Yue adjusted her hat as she greeted the other girl, "I heard this was a library." The short girl clutched her book to her chest, she would be upset if this was the only true book in ship.

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yue bowed politely, "Ayase Yue. It is nothing like the libraries I'm used to." Perhaps this is what libraries looked like in the Old World now, with so much technology. She always imagined them to be endless labyrinths filled with dangers and unspeakably rare texts. Which is still a possibility as this ship is very advanced. Even then, this is probably what advancement will do to all libraries. Not a single book in the room.

"This... is rather depressing to look at." Not only a lack of books, but there seemed to be no order to the books locations. So much for feeling at home.

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yue picked up a pad and glanced at it. No heart, that's what this was. Formed, pressed, it lacked diversity. Each book a different size, a different color, the margins varied, as did language. Who would want everything the same, to take the little bit of immortality from the authors?

Yue thought a moment, and smiled, "Yes, there must be books somewhere. And if there aren't... maybe we can find a way to make some."

Although he would not admit it, Tsukasa was lost. After all, the meatship is huge.

Maybe that whole...learn-by-walking-around idea was not one of my better ones. With that, Tsukasa turned...and entered a very big library, with shelves and shelves of PADDs.

Ooh, a library. I can find a map here! So, he went further in, calling, "Hello? Anyone home? Anyone...anyone at all?"

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Tsukasa heard a voice asking if there was anything wrong, so he responded with a simple, "Yeah, I need a map of this ship; where can I find one?"
