The Challenge From Beyond - Regroup

You've had the good fortune to be scooped up and now you need to regroup and get ready to take on the Nightmare King himself. Time to reorganize and gear up as best you can with what you've got. The Nightmare King isn't going to wait for you.

Though she wasn't blonde at the moment, Nanoha would be greeted by one of the two people she was looking for.

"NANOHA-MAMA!" A voice called out. A few moments late, Vivio, adult form, Barrier Jacketed AND Unisoned, ran up to her mother. She was quite happy to see her. "Nanoha-mama! You're okay!"

There was an alien following close behind her. Aeneas had made a promise, after all—and though he might’ve strayed when the crowd first gathered, he kept an eye out for one of the two females that he now recognized as Vivio’s parents. However that worked (though something told him that now wasn’t the best time to be inquiring about human reproductive abilities).

He approached slowly but calmly, giving Nanoha a casual nod and a brow-lifting smile when he was able to catch her eye. Was that pride ruffling his feathers? It very well could be!

Matt was close behind as well, having prepared for this moment. He flipped the shield he wore onto his back and rested an arm on the sword. "Nanoha," he greeted, grinning at the small group. "Glad to see people are making it through."

"It's good to see you're okay too, Matt - and Aeneas," she nodded at the blue alien next to him. "Everyone else must still be dealing with the nightmares."

"That's what I figured," said Matt with a shake of his head. "I think Big and Tentacled probably has his claws in deep with some people." He nibbled his lip. Where WAS Will? And Irma? He hoped they were all right.

Another nod, another respectful smile. “They are probably grouped together like ourselves, wondering if we are faring as well as them.”

Yes, Aeneas caught that moment of indecision, Matt. His statement was meant for you.

"Don't worry," she said with as cheerful a smile as she could muster. "You trust them, right? If we all broke free then they can't be far behind."

"Yeah, you're right." said Matt, trying not to worry too much about his loved ones. "They're strong, they can definitely pull through."

"Vivio!" Even in her adult form, even Unisoned, Nanoha would recognize her daughter anywhere - and she enveloped the girl in a crushingly tight hug of relief.

"I'm fine, Vivio - don't worry. What about you? Are you all right?"

"I'm fine...!" Vivio said, returning the hug. "Aeneas and Sheik helped me out and we helped out a few others while we were together...!"

She laid a hand on her chest as she continued. "Don't worry - Rein-chan's okay. I just met up with her and we opted to Unison just in case..." Her face fell a bit. "I... I haven't see Fate-mama, though..."

Nanoha didn't let go of her for a very long time, and though she felt a cold stone settle in the pit of her stomach at the idea that Fate wasn't there - that nightmare was all too vivid in her head - she shook it away, a quiet smile on her face. "Fate-mama's one of the strongest people I know. She'll be okay, I know it - I'm sure she's just busy helping other people break free of their nightmares."

"I'm glad to hear you're okay too, Rein-chan," she said knowing that the Unison Device could hear her.

Rein smiled from within Vivio. "Thank you Nanoha-san," she said, hoping everyone would be all right.
