The Terrible Old Man

It begins.

This was the moment the Seer had been waiting for.

Though it was now when the King of Nightmares was at its most dangerous, it was also when it was at its most vulnerable as well.

Now was the time to strike.

He did not have time to search out the crew for specific people. He needed someone--anyone--to act quickly on his behalf. So he sent out his call to only a small handful of crew members. Those who, for one reason or another, were easy to reach out to in the swirling abyss of the ship's psychic landscape.

It begins, he says, I require your assistance.

"I don't know," Kala said quietly, moving to join them. She peered at the skull thing curiously. Kazami, she knew and her golden eyes paused on his face for a moment before glancing at the other man. "But freeing the Seer's probably a good idea considering the mess we're all in at the moment."

"Maybe due to our experiences?" He shrugs. "We could just be luck of the draw. Who knows?" Coupling him with a stranger and a girl who used wind magic? Kazami was sure it was just luck.

He frowns at the lack of warning from XXVI at the movement. "Come on, let's make sure it doesn't get too far away from us." Without waiting for a response, he follows it down through the Hub, stepping out of the Hub and into an area of the ship he'd never been to. Godhead Row the floating thing had called it.

He steps forward, running a hand down the doors as he approaches the one the familiar hangs in front of it. "This looks like some kind of prison, don't you think?" Of course it is. "Do you think the Seer's the only thing down here?"

"Let's hope the Seer is the only one." He looks around the area and frowns. A prison, hidden from the rest of the crew. He really shouldn't be as surprised. He was however surprised by his companions, two people he had never met before, and he was here to bust the Seer out of prison.

"That's it." He looked to the two and frowned. "We're here because we'd do this without a second thought. Breaking someone out of prison, it doesn't even cause me to blink differently."

"Well, we've met him...sorta," Kala murmured. "And he's here to help us with the Nightmare King, so...I guess I'm not gonna think twice about breaking him out of this place." Her pendant glowered for a moment, then, in a flash of light, she was both armored and armed with a staff.

"I could blow the door down if I was careful enough."

I think he's big enough. Kazami frowns as he stares at the armor and the weapon. Slowly, he circles it, then stands in front, stroking his chin. Luckily, those other two are here. It would be bad if they'd called for three humans and got me in the mix.

"Why does it... Nevermind." He shakes his head, stepping aside so that Jason and Kala can look if they want. "I think we're all willing to witness him reawakening. What about you two?"

"Willing and ready." Jason fingers gently stroked the hilt of his knife as he stepped up to get a better look at the thing. He shook his head and frowned. Things with excess armor always irritated. Mostly because bullets couldn't pierce the thing.

"If we stand here any longer, we're just going to be wasting time," Kala said pointedly as she frowned at the giant...thing. Thing was a good word. She didn't have anything at all when it came down to a name. Guardian, maybe.

"Let's get this over with."

Kazami pauses and glances at the other two. He'd like to be up front, just in case there's some kind of trap involved, but... He's not human. Not in his mind, at least.

Finding a mental excuse, he gestures for Jason or Kala. "Go ahead. If this isn't right, I want to be in a position to move." He doubts that there's any falshood in the Seer's words, but he's spent many years hiding his existence as a remodeled human. Kazami finds no reason to stop now.
