A Few Levels In Bard [OPEN]

Joey's never had the easiest time of sleeping in strange places, but this nightmare business going on since his arrival has been rotten on top of it.

As usual when he's sleeping badly though music steps in to soothe his soul. He found his guitar a long with a few choice other items in the storage lockers so he's found himself a comfortable spot in the media library to strum away. Stacy has a library of sheet music like he's never seen in his life, but he's just working on songs he knows for now.

Journey's 'Only Solutions' is just rolling off the strings today.

There really is nothing like music to soothe the soul, even someone like Rose knew that. But she had kept it as a secret to herself until recently. Something only she knew about and hid away from others, a special thing untainted by the rest of the world.

Once she'd been pushed to break that bubble by Slobo and Static she'd opened up a bit about it, indulging in the occasional if not public performance, at least not hidden away completely. The sensoium had provided her first guitar on ship, but since then she'd scrounged one up from the media center.

She'd been making her way down to tune the strings when she heard someone else playing. Rose peered around the edge of the door surprised to see the musician was none other than the other Wilson on board. She wasted no time in joining him, announcing herself with a wide wave and smile.

Mind if I join you? She signed and hefted her own instrument in offer.

Rose settled in alongside him, her own guitar given a quick strum. A few turns tightened the strings and crisped the tune.

I'm good, well as good as can be here. How are you adjusting?

Rose smiled and rocked a bit, nudging her brother with her own shoulder. He might not know of their closeness but she was determined to let him know he did indeed have family that cared.

The choice of music fell to her, but she rather thought Joey would feel more comfortable with something from his memory. "Hmmm." Rose shuffled through a few dozen selections before pulling one up and nodding to it.

Black Magic Woman by Santana, classics are classics for a reason.

Arha felt as if she were always moving. Her feet found paths, her body followed, she flowed in and out of moments, finding sleep when and where she could. She battled nightmares, she woke, she ate, she trained protesting muscles. She helped those that she could. But she needed rest.

Music was a sort of rest and it drew her.

She stood in the doorway clad in her white leather, which seemed to be her own uniform, now, combined with the milk-white lightsaber at her belt, and the white cloak around her shoulders that gathered around her ankles. Arha tilted her head slightly, but she couldn't place the tune.

It was, however, pleasant.

"I'm sorry if I startled you," Arha murmured, returning the wave with a curl of a smile playing at her lips. "You play well."

She sat, then, with her legs crossed desert style, tucked into the chair like she'd been poured there, her smile full-on bright and inviting. Her head was tilted eagerly again, as if catching the notes and saving them up for some day when music wouldn't filter through from anywhere but her own mind. She'd sit awhile.

Arha would sit and listen and fill herself up with sound.

Oh. That was definitely pretty and soft, too. Arha did like it and the soft grin was enough to show it. He'd a good grasp on the guitar, that was for sure, and she said nothing so as not to interrupt, even if her fingers did itch for her own guitar or something quite like one. If it had strings, she was fairly certain she could play it.

Hand signals. Such were much like the ones Bene Gesserit Sisters used. It was not the same, but she was determined to catch on. If these were letters, one would assume he was spelling his name out. Her wide, bright blue-within-blue eyes seemed to burn a little brighter for a moment.

"If you would, go through from the beginning of your signing to the end. I am a fast learner and shall have it then, yes?" Her smile widened like the sun peeking from behind a cloudbank. "And my name is Arha."

"I shall enjoy learning such a thing as I have the time." Her bright blue-within-blue eyes lit up as her eyes darted to his face and that smile of her came out full force, as if it contained the heat of a small sun. "Ah, I am pleased to meet you, Joey," she said with a grin and without pause, merrily fell into copying each letter and committing it to memory.
