After the Glow
After her endeavor with Sheeana, Katara had felt much calmer than she had since arriving here. She could breathe freely knowing that she would do whatever she needed to in getting Aang back, but also making sure that she didn't think about that too often. It had all seemed to make so much sense when she realized that she was the one that had helped to feet The Nightmare King King. Now she felt more able to push those feelings back, to channel them away for its safety, she felt more secure now.
It left room for many other questions, and Katara was fine with that. She knew she was still learning, and she'd have a long way to go before she'd have true inner peace...and the person she wanted to be with the most. Until then, she would have to be content with dwelling on her mistakes and arranging her thinking around the Nightmare King.
Today, she was in the city, specifically in the park. It was a peaceful day, and she could feel a gentle breeze wash over her. She sighed contently

So she was searching for her other family member. Her daughter. The one person on the ship who brought more sunlight into his dark mind than any other person she'd ever met. She was glad she didn't have to fly around long, and spotted her in the park.
Landing softly on the ground, she didn't say anything as she moved to Katara and just pulled her into a hug.

"I missed you at the costume party, Carol," she said lightly. "I had a costume I wanted to show you. I still have it, but it would probably be weird of me to wear it now, and anyway, its in my room. I think you'll like it though!"
Here, she rolled onto her belly, her legs swaying carelessly behind her. "How have you been doing, with everything that's happened?"

"I'm sorry I missed the party. It seemed like lots of fun, but I had some stuff to think through." She smiled and moved a hand to fiddle with some of Katara's hair. She still had to introduce the girl to Peter, though she's sure they have met elsewhere by now. Maybe even introduce her to Tony. The man was one of her best friends, even if she felt so used by him. "How about you tell me about your costume, and then at some point you can show it to me?"

"The costume, to be honest, is your old one!" Katara said, laughing a little. "I had to admit, I was a little shocked at the lack of material, but then I talked with this guy, Billy Kaplan, and he explained about the designer. It's grown on me though: I feel like whoever wears it needs to have such a dignity about them and a forcible nature that it could only be you."

"The designer died not long before I woke up here. She was a very close friend of mine." She continued to play with Katara's hair, remembering Janet and smiling a bit. "She was a character though. Always so focused on her fashions. She only was a hero as a secondary thing. Which is the opposite of most of the Avengers. Even one of the first."

She smiled. "I know that it sounded weird to think of me in the costume, but I worked a little while on it to make sure it was as accurate as possible. It was a lot of fun!"

"It's fine sweetheart. I'm glad you had a lot of fun."

Katara looked at Carol with a far off expression. "It was fun...and satisfying too. I was pretty proud of it. I'm sure it looked great on you."
