Questions to Your Answers [Closed]

Nura has done all she can to prep the meeting - she's had Stacy shape the sensorium to be spherical, with light blue walls and gray tiling, and the walls stretching high for the screen display. On the first screen, there is this image, framed by chrome for a nice, silver-polish finish. The third screen displays a similar image, only there are obvious differences by number and form. And the second image is a large collage of an assortment of numbers from both images and then some.

There are steps to a slightly raised dais which is located before the three screens, with two hover-seats for the viewing part. It seems like one of those tri-screens in the museums to commemorate the 'what was' and the 'what is' statements about society - but it is not. Nura has done all this with a purpose. She has the information to give, and she is confident that it needs to be given.

She's adorned the room with bean-bags placed haphazardly, and a few statues of deceased Legionnaires from various Legions as tribute. And to help ease the foreboding air in the room, she has had Stacy bring back Holo-Querl, with added Holo-Lyle of her Earth. Holo-Lyle has crashed on a beanbag and is reading a comic from a comic stack that was quickly created out of thin air. Holo-Querl is by Nura's side, where she sits on the top step of the dais, thinking.

[this is closed to Lyle Norg]

Lyle's face is blank as he enters the room. He's not sure what to expect. His eyes are first drawn to the people inside--or holograms thereof. He glances at the fake Legionnaires for just a moment before dismissing them. As he walks up to Nura he takes in the images of the different Legions, lingering on his own. He frowns deeply at it before turning to Nura.

"What did you want to tell me?"

Lyle waits. He's not sure whether someone told her that or not, but he's not going to interrupt her if she's in the middle of a trance.

Lyle nods. "All right." He's not someone to turn down information. He's not sure why it had to be him, but presumably she'll get to that.

"Once upon a time, there was an awful explosion that tore open the multiverse. From the hole, came three Legions of parallel Earths. Different Earths, and different times. They had noticeable differences and noticeable similarities."

The lights dimmed.

"The Three Legions battled the enemy, saved the multiverse, but were met with an unfortunate quandary: they were stranded on an unknown parallel Earth with no way back."

Red circles went around each Brainiac 5 upon the center screen's image. "Of course, the Brainiacs didn't think so. Starman volunteered to be their project - they redesigned Starman's uniform to be a map to the multiverse. Using his gravity amplifying abilities, he opened up black holes that abled the Legions to return to their respective homes."

There's a pause.

Lyle waits patiently. Nura must have some point in telling him this.

[identity profile] crysteel-future.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Later, there was another convening of the Legion of Three Worlds - as the Brainiacs called it - when Superboy Prime of my Legion's Earth was unleashed upon the elder Legion's Earth, by the Time Warrior, or, as the Legions who have been terrorized by his meddling call him: The Time Trapper."

She lifts her hand to the first screen. "I believe your Legion has encountered him before."

[identity profile] smartnass.livejournal.com 2010-02-06 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Lyle nods. "We're familiar with him."

Lyle's just going to assume she won't tell him why she knows this. Just getting this much information out of her is something.

"Legionnaires were lost in the battle. Many friends were brought back. Nothing gained. Nothing lost. My Legion lost two teammates to Superboy Prime. But while there are grievances..." Holo-Jan and Holo-Dirk appear, laughing over something unknown to Lyle. They walk down the dais and head over to where Holo-Lyle is waving. "...Nothing was more surprising than when the Time Trapper finally removed his hood..."

The screens all change, to show one picture. "...and revealed himself (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5VgL6ZXwkaw/Sfn9sBBcd_I/AAAAAAAANq4/HroKnr_We7w/s1600-h/Final+Crisis+Legion+of+Three+Worlds+4-10.jpg)."

"Your Superboy Prime?"

He's still wondering what this has to do with them.

"I'm sorry." And he is, although he knows she's not telling him this for sympathy.

"What are you saying, Nura?"

Less prophecy, more exposition, please.

He accepts and examines it. He quickly transfers the relevant data to his omnicom and offers it back.

"Why keep this from Brainy?"

Insulting Brainy is not the best way to make friends with Lyle, even if you've married his counterpart. His counterpart isn't him, after all.

"You're a mind-reader as well as a pre-cog? That should be useful."

Lyle nods formally, then turns to leave. "Was there anything else you wanted to say?"

Lyle just raises his eyes at the scrap of fabric. It's a good symbol of just how little Nura understands. She thinks she approach some level of meaning by presenting him with this, yet at the same time she mocks it--using his counterpart's face to do so.

He doesn't bother to comment, though. It would likely be unprofessional in any case. He simply continues on his way out the door and, since he's not facing her, Nura can't see him roll his eyes as he leaves.
