If you keep seeking... [Open]
Somebody's busy in Weapons & Possessions.
Jack's Super Secret Evil Project that he's been slowly working on, with much interruption, for a while now has finally come to fruition. At least, so he hopes. It all depends on what happens right now.
He activates the small, box-shaped device he's holding. It starts clicking softly. Jack grins.
Something's here.
He steps sloooowly further into the room and starts ranging along the stacks. As he approaches the end of one row, the clicking starts picking up.
He laughs.
"Jack," he tells himself, already gloating, "you really are a genius."

And no, it wasn't Spider-man.
"Whatcha doing?" inquired Spidermonkey.

Jack jumps back, one arm flying up in front of his face defensively. WHAT IS THAT THING?!
Thankfully he doesn't lose the clicky box. Which is still clicking steadily, unperturbed.

"Well, that depends on where it is," he says, considering. If he could get help, that would be kind of cool. It'd be less work for him.
"First thing's first, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I gotta find it. Also, what the heck are you?"
Jack continues to follow the speedier clicking, assuming this blue alien dude is going to follow.

"But my real name's Ben. You can just call me Ben."

Click click click, Jack moves along click click clickclickclickBEEEEEEEEEEP!
The clicking dies. Jack looks around, squinting. Where is it? It has to be here. He knows it has to be here, whatever it-
"Aha!"
And predictably, it's out of reach. Good thing he has this new blue alien dude to help him.
"Can you see that hawk statue-y thing up there? It's kind of mine," Jack says, pointing up at it where it's sitting on a high crate, caught in a loose net of some kind.
The Shadow of Fear. Hmm.

Working the net loose with a few deft tugs, he webbed it up and lowered it down gently on a string. "This is it right?"
no subject
Jack grins, blowing a bit of dust off the hawk statue.
Wait, there's something he should say here, isn't there?
"Thanks," he says, though he's mostly absorbed in plotting at a thousand miles an hour in his head now, grinning shiftily like only Jack can grin.
His plans aren't all that evil (yet!), that's just how he smiles.

Okay, now he has to leave here with the Shadow of Fear. Will Stacy stop him...?
He turns to go, and it seems that, at least for now, the ship is cool with him plundering it.
Once in the hall, he bolts off to his room to find a place to stow it, only just managing to suppress an evil cackle.
no subject
"Why's that, Jack?"
no subject
"Let's just say I've found a way to make my life a liiiiittle bit easier."
no subject
"In what way?" she asked, wandering closer to get a look at what Jack had been looking at.
no subject
Jack hesitates, then decides that if no one here knows what he's doing to begin with, what does it matter?
"This," he says, "is a Shen Gong Wu detector."
He waits for her to ask what that is. Much as he's aware other crew members might object to the, ahm, dubious ownership of what he's looking for, Jack loves to show off.
no subject
"What's a Shen Gong Wu detector?" she asked, managing to keep the amusement out of her voice in favour of curiosity.
no subject
"Kinda obvious why I'd be looking for 'em."
no subject
Ahava didn't know Jack particularly well, but something about his demeanour made her add; "And is anyone going to object to you taking them?"
no subject
As for the second question? "No, nah," he answers, a little too quickly to be casual.
no subject
If she noticed how quickly Jack answered the second question, Ahava didn't comment on it. She'd wait until she had a look at what these Shen Gong Wu items were first, and then make up her mind.
no subject
"Yeah, it's always kind of a gamble. I used to know this thousand year old Heylin witch who could sense them and tell me what they are, but this box isn't that smart. Yet, anyway," he says.
Jack's not sure he wants somebody following him, but he can't really shake Ahava off without seeming even more suspicious. Jack's figured out that if he's gonna be evil on a boat full of heroes he'll have to be more subtle about it. He follows the box, noting where the clicking speeds up. There's something in here.
no subject
"Everything starts somewhere," Ahava said philosophically. "You can always look into getting it to specialise at a later date. Or who knows? Maybe you'll find something unexpectedly useful?"
She noticed the clicking picking up speed and Ahava paused beside the box. "This one?"
