Looking for personal objects [Open]
Beckett was down in the Weapons and Possessions locker, digging through the piles of unclaimed items, looking for two particular objects: her gun, and her police badge. The gun was her main focus; she hated being unarmed in a place like this, and the badge was just an object of convenience... A reminder of who she was and what she did.
She was absorbed in her search, but that didn't mean she couldn't tell when someone was coming up behind her. It was ironic how the timing worked out, because just as she got the feeling that she wasn't alone, she touched something familiar. Looking down, she saw it was her gun; the same one she carried around every day, and kept on her even at night.
With a smile, she picked up the weapon, and checked to see if it was loaded. It was, which made her relax a bit. Just having it there made some of the unease go away. She hadn't found her police badge, but the gun was enough for now, so she turned around and asked, "Who's there?"

She kicked aside something long and metal - to Beckett it might look like a wrist-mounted gun of some kind, but to Grim Eyes it just looked like junk. "Not that I could find a damn thing in here. Hooves of the Antelope, but this is an unholy mess. Wonder when the last time they had someone down here to clear it all out was?"

"Well, if you give me a general description of your spear, I can help you look for it. There is a lot to look through, but two sets of eyes are better than one," Beckett replied, now trying to find a place to put her gun. The plantsuits weren't the best things for holding firearms, or anything, for that matter.

Not to mention she was one of the few crew members without the plantsuit. The modified hazmat suit of her ghost morph was far more comfortable than the living tissue. "You don't have a ghost sense do you?"

"There's a lot of unused things here. It reminds me a little of the property room down at the precinct." Maybe she was just projecting what she knew on the place out of desperation to have something familiar around, but whether that was the case or not, Beckett felt oddly relieved.

"Never been in a property room for a cop place. Been too other places, though never this big, but it is for millions of people. Or more." One day she was gonna fly around that how place just to see how long it took.

"It's nothing exciting, unless sifting through unclaimed items is something you like." She wasn't sure why she was describing the property room to Dani, except for her own reminiscence. "Millions? I can't imagine that many people being on this ship, but I suppose anything can happen."

"It's amazing what you can find when you rummage. Sure, some stuff could be useless, but you can also find a treasure." Or food. Food was good when one was homeless. "And there could be. Stacy is at least the size of a moon, if not bigger."

Beckett listened to the girl talking about things that could be found if you searched hard enough, but what she commented on was her statement about Stacy's size. "I figured she had to be large, but I didn't realize just how large."

Dani nodded. "I've seen it when we went to a world to 'Save Christmas.'"

"Save Christmas, huh?"
no subject
"Yep! Had a great spirit of giving, an evil corporation, and a lot of charity work to do. It was fun."
