Turtle Wax [Open]
Samus needed a distraction. There had been a lot of talk about the Nightmare King lately, but no action as far as she could see. Even she was at a loss for what could be done. Nightmares were a inevitable part of her life, but they had become noticeably more striking recently. She wasn't exactly in a position to act, though. She had no magical powers, no mystical abilities. In her nightmares, she was, ultimately, helpless, a feeling which she did not like. She'd bring it up to the command crew, but she was sure they had already discussed it. Plus, she wasn't sure many of them could do more than she could.
She needed a distraction from it. She had headed down to Engineering and set her station up. Anyone who walked in would find the large chest chassis of her armor set out in front of her with an assortment of tools in place and a container of turtle wax waiting for use. An empty glass (which was probably filled before with some of Lex's "stash" in the crew lounge) sat next to the Hunter as she worked diligently.

Nova had been headed to engineering to run repairs on her goggles, and weapons. Her suit seemed to be none the worse for wear, so she'd left it stowed in her room. Her rifle however, was held easily on her shoulder as she wandered toward the work area. She'd been here before, trailing several people. But this was the first time she'd come to work.
She spotted Samus before the woman spotted her however and paused. It would probably have been more comfortable to avoid her. Specially since she'd seen Nova at what was most probably her worst. But no, there was no sense in it. Stepping into the room, she found an empty workspace and set her gear down. Her rifle was quickly disassembled and the pieces laid out on the worktable in front of her before she raised her cleaning implements onto the table as well.
When she caught sight of what Samus was doing however, she paused and tilted her head curiously. "Cleaning your armor?" She finally asked.

"I am," she answered with a curt nod, and since there was no reason in being impolite, she asked curiously, "Your gun?"
no subject
"So it separate from you after all then." She remarked offhandedly. It hadn't seemed that way at the bar. "Mm. One of them. It hasn't seen much use so I'm ensuring it's still in working order."

"So you're the person inside that suit? It's got a really interesting design! Well for something I didn't invent, anyway."

and immediately wondered why a giant mass of hair was talking to herShe stared straight down at the (rather odd) girl, and quirked her eyebrow slightly as Lash finished talking."Don't think we've met."

Lash seemed mostly harmless, but she was still eying her a bit carefully. This armor was
her babyimportant, and she tended to be suspicious of random newcomers trying to sneak a peak at its inner workings.no subject
"So what's your name? Is this part of a mass produced line?"

And she'd be sure as hell surprised if she ever saw someone with the same armor.

Just then Gandrayda came by transformed as Samus and gave both of them a wave before posing for no reason and then leaving as mysteriously as she had come.Re: This is not a post
Get out, Gandrayda B(Okay back to your regularly scheduled episode of "The Blond and the Afro"
"Really? So you built it yourself then? Are you some type of soldier?"

She's trying to keep up with all the questions, but there honestly are a lot.

At least she wasn't asking more questions.

So she kept mostly quiet about it, "No reason really. Curiosity."
no subject
"I see. How old are you?" Lack of tact. The girl was full of it.

Didn't anyone ever teach Lash it was rude to ask a lady her age?
no subject
"Well, the last time you remember then?"
Too bad for Samus she had started it.
no subject
"Twenty nine."

His eyes fell from the suit down to Samus herself. His silence would've indicated that he'd finished speaking before he (somewhat hastily) added, "Quite impressive."

She placed down the precision tool she was using and turned to him, "I suppose I just thought it was expected of me."
no subject
As she looked to him, he returned the gesture. "...tell me, how long has it been?" He asked. "Since you left Zebes?"
no subject
"About fifteen years, I believe," It was her best estimate. She added, "I did go back. Only a couple of times, though."
