Maybe working would be better [Open]

It's hard to keep track of time on the ship, which makes it harder for Lyle to tell when he's overworking himself. He seems to have overdone it a bit at the moment, and he's escaped to a Sensorium to relax.

Normally, he looks for people to chat with to regain his strength, but a recent dream has put him in more of a nostalgic and thoughtful mood. Still, it's almost a surprise to him when he enters the room and switches it to a rocky, barren landscape. His strongest memories of this place were a long, long time ago.

It does make sense. Being sent to Durla after everything that'd happened had turned out to be a blessing. He had people to talk to and new philosophies to learn, and he also had the surface. It was barren of any buildings and completely open to the sky--the clearest sky he'd seen on any planet.

He lies back and stargazes, but it's not long before he begins to feel that it's too easy to think here. Lyle sits up and begins to dust himself off, debating where else to go.

Rein was floating towards the Sensoriums carrying a clipboard twice her size when she noticed the beautiful sky and the young man standing there. Putting it under her arm, she waved. "Hello!"

[identity profile] pocketloli.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh no, I was just headed down the hall when I wandered in," giggled Rein as she floated up to Lyle's face and bowed. "I'm Reinforce, but you can call me Rein. It's very nice to meet you desu~!"

[identity profile] pocketloli.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Rein nodded. "Very nice to meet you Lyle-san!" and she bowed.

Giggling she added, "Yep desu. I'm what you call a Intelligent Device. I help Hayate, my master and friend, to channel and organize her magical spells during combat. She's not very good at multitasking you see."

That vibrant sky is one of the most awe-inspiring sights Billy has seen in quite a while. Even knowing that the environment is a mere simulation, he also knows that the memory had to come from somewhere. Or someone, to be precise.

Cautiously keeping an eye out for the other person who must be here, Billy sinks to sit on the ground and turns his head skyward. He'll apologize for intruding, of course, but this sight needs to be seen. "I might've taken up stargazing if I could find views this spectacular at home," he reminisces.
morphitudinous: (I'm not certain we can)

Right on cue, there's the originator of this illusion. Billy scrambles to his feet, ready to run at a moment's notice. Some people could be quite territorial. "I'm sorry about the intrusion. I'll leave immediately if you want me to. But if you don't mind answering, where are we viewing the sky from?"

"Durla," he repeats, looking around one more time. "It reminded me of home somewhat. Is your friend a crew member here?"

Indigo steps into the Sensoriums, hoping for a moment of bowling for herself, and pauses at the scenery that already exists. Her face falls for a moment, but she rallies and looks up at the skies. The star patterns don't match anything she's familiar with, they're obviously not on Earth.

How annoying.

When Lyle sits up, her head snaps over to his direction. She floats up, heading in his direction slowly, and clears her throat. "Good day. Am I interrupting you?"

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
She lands, crossing her arms, and casts her gaze across the rocky landscape. It's not a bad looking place, she decides. Just not Earth.

Indigo catches his look and raises an eyebrow. "This place is important to you." It's not a question.

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
She can tell it's not the whole truth, his heartrate can give her enough clues there. Indigo glances up at the sky again and frowns. "It's not Earth. None of the constellations match my databases." Her head swivels down to look at him again. "Where are we?"

It's at that moment that Bart crashes through the doors of the Sensorium.

"OhheyIdidn'tknowsomeonewasinhereYOU!" He definitely recognized that guy. He was a Legionnaire! He could... do something awesome? Bart couldn't remember which one he was.

[identity profile] speedforbrains.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah!" He recognized him! Grife, now Bart had to figure out which Legionnaire this guy was. "You're.... um, Arm-Fall-Off-Boy?" The arms seemed suspiciously well attached, though. Maybe it was just because of the plant suit. Or superglue.

[identity profile] speedforbrains.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Ohhhhhh, right." Bart nodded vigorously. "Yeah, I would have totally guessed that first, but I can see you."

Ahava smiled as Lyle sat up. "Sorry," she said easily, "I got caught up looking at the sky. This is Durla, isn't it?"

[identity profile] feelnothinatall.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Once or twice," Ahava said. "Mostly on work related trips, so I didn't get much of a chance to take in the scenery. What about yourself? Work for the Legion?"

[identity profile] feelnothinatall.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ahava shrugged. "Not really. We were mostly working in some out of the way, isolated places. Essentially they left us alone if we did the same."

She smiled and gave a little chuckle. "Besides, once I get caught up in a new project, I tend to forget everything else."
