As Brainy continues working on Sam, Brainy's voice is a placid pool of cold, cold calm--ready to suck something under and drown it in the freezing depths.

I imagine quite a few members of the rest of the crew would be lining up behind me."
His expression is defiant.
"Your threats mean nothing. You're used to conquering humans and other species ignorant of your existence. This crew is not human--even the baseline humans are not typical humans--and your kind has never dealt with the likes of us before," he says.
"You're the ones who should be afraid. And you are. Otherwise, you'd be bargaining for your lives rather than making baseless threats. Empty threats are all you have left."
