This Man's Home Is A Castle [OPEN]
When he first saw it weeks ago, shortly after the crew had finally caught up him, he thought for certain that he was hallucinating. But there it was, nestled among several other castles. The Luthor Mansion, in all it's glory.
Lex was never a superstitious man, but even he believed that there was more to heaven and earth than what could be proven on paper. The appearance of his home, a reward no other crew member had received (to his knowledge), certainly made him think. He wondered if this was some sort of sign that his decisions so far had indeed been right, or that he was on the right path. Perhaps it was put there as a distraction of sorts, as well, as there were many unpleasant memories that haunted those walls. For the time being, he decided to take it as a reward, however relocating there initially proved to be problematic.
The Mansion wasn't in disarray, but it was clear that no one had walked its halls in quite some time. Not only that, but the last people who had clearly had little regard for the property. There was a layer of dirt and dust everywhere, expensive and priceless paintings had been torn off the walls and trashed, priceless artifacts were just broken pieces of clay or stone, pieces of antique furniture had been smashed, and every vault was empty. Not a single green meteor rock to be found. He counted himself lucky that his pool table, piano, and a handful of family photos managed to survive.
Rather than be dejected, Lex looked at it as project to occupy his time. Since he only worked in Neuropathy whenever he felt like it, and manned the bar in the lounge at his discretion, he did have plenty of time to devote to this project. Which was good, because cleaning up and fixing up a 40 room mansion-- replete with its own library (with real books), well supplied medieval armory and modern armory, pool, wine cellar, gym, and grand ballroom-- took a lot of work.
Work which still hadn't been completed, but he had progressed far enough to not only make it livable, but also presentable. The master bedroom, Lex's office, and most of the common areas had been cleaned up. All the rest was blocked off for the moment, but were in locations that were fairly out of the way.
So, he put out a message on the omnicomms, and invited a few people to check the place out. The ones who weren't already spying on him, at any rate. He laid out a few drinks, and a sampling of some of the fresh fruit and food he picked up while during their last mission to earth. He didn't expect many guests, after all, he had never been the most well liked person, even back when he was a relatively kindhearted kid. Most parties he hosted as an adult, he was usually surrounded by obsequious employees desperate to move up the food chain, business partners who wanted a more favorable deal, business rivals who were trying to find out something about the competition, charity representatives who wanted money, and sycophants who wanted the notoriety of being in the same room as Lex Luthor and access to the connections that alone can bring. Friends were simply a foreign concept, if he ever truly had any to begin with, and he certainly hadn't gone out of his way to make any on the ship. He was curious as to what category his guests, if he had any, would fit in.
((ooc: This is something of a party style post, so feel free to talk to Lex, Lois, or talk to each other while your character looks around.))

Wings rustling and scales clicking with unease, he edged away. There was a word he'd never heard used to describe him. "...cute?"

Grinning from ear to ear, she edged closer to Kang, narrowing her eyes up at him a little as her wandering fingers traced ever so lightly over a certain point of his wing. "You don't like cute?" Really Kang, how can you resist those big, limpid, green eyes. Any other man would be a puddle of jelly right now. Well, almost any other man.

He eyed Nova with a great deal of consternation as she kept moving closer, edging back, unsure of how to handle the situation. There was a finger running over his chest and then...
Whoa. Whoa.
At the touch to that part of his wing, both of the appendages snapped out and the bozak jumped back several feet, nearly dropping his bottle on the floor.
"Ma'am, stop. I have a mate!"

"How's it goin', Kang?" she asked cheerfully, moving toward the bar. She grinned and nodded to the others in the group as well before leaning over the bar to see what there was drink-wise.
no subject
Yeah, even Samus was ignoring Kawalsky for the lizard man. Sad.

hit onmet. "Hello there, I don't think we've met." He greeted Kaylee.no subject
When he jumped back like that though, she pouted, crossing her arms as the bottle lifted itself to her lips again, letting her finish off its contents. Really, who wouldn't be drunk after drinking two whole bottles. "Well that's no fun."
A pause as she considered this. "How 'bout we just don't tell her. Unless it's a him. Cause if you swing that way that's cool too." She laughed, reaching for another bottle and nearly falling over onto the other side of the bar. She quickly caught herself and grabbed the bottle she'd been aiming for, giggling as she pushed herself back up.
"C'mon guys. You haven't drunk nearly 'nough yet! Ya'll aren't having enough funnnn~!"

...what. The very idea of another male... Snorting in disgust, he crossed his arms over his chest, "Hell. No. I am not about to..." Shit. What was the term humans used? Oh right. "I'm not cheating on her!"

It looked like he would need help soon enough, but first things first. There was a nice, good-looking guy sitting here, and she certainly wasn't about to pass up a chance to...meet someone new. "Don't think so, either," she flashed him a smile, and pulled a bottle from behind the counter. "'M Kaylee."
no subject
Yeah, sorry Kang. Kawalsky's got higher priorities.

She tilted her head for a moment, just staring at the dragon-man. There seemed to be something she wanted to say, she even had her mouth half open ready to say it, but oh, there it went. Who cares anyway? Shrugging, she just laughed and traced her finger under his jaw teasingly. "S'your loss big boy. But if y'ever reconsider..." She trailed off, smirking at him.
Kaylee got a wiggly fingered wave and a hand offered to her for a shake. Nova really did fall off the bar this time, but landed on her feet somehow, popping back up immediately with an insanely wide grin on her face as she stood on her unsteady legs offering the girl her hand. "Heya Kaylee! M'Nova. S'nice to meetcha." A pause as she narrowed her eyes at the girl. "Are y'new around here?"
Samus got a pat on the shoulder, by the far too tipsy and thus, good-humored Ghost as she tried to hold in her giggles. "C'mon Samus. Whatcha talkin' t'him foooor? He's toooooooo easy. That's no fun!" She laughed, pulling a face at Kawalsky.

She just had to touch under his jaw as well. The woman was incredibly lucky Fonrar was not there to see it; he would not have been surprised if Nova ended up dead.
A short growl escaping him, the draconian backed away further, in case of any more attempted touches from the very drunk female. Thankfully, he was left alone after that, though. Releasing a breath he hadn't even realized he'd been holding in, he snorted, wings twitching, and sat down on one of the seats, away from Nova.
Another twitch, accompanied by an irritated tail lash, and a large drink from his bottle. He was not in the mood for this.
"Draconian. We bear no more resemblance to lizards than you humans do monkeys."

It seemed like Kang had everything under control, anyways. The lady backed off, right? Granted, she fell off the bar in doing so, but the Draconian seemed safe for the moment. Kaylee took Nova's hand cheerfully. "Nova? Nice to meet you, too." One couldn't help but wonder how much alcohol Nova had in her system...
"Kang, s'alright. There're plenty of people who think we're monkeys," she commented, moving a little closer to Kang to be ready for any needed calming-down on his part. "No harm meant."

She shook her head, turning to Kaylee, "Charles has been doing that all night. He's mostly harmless. Samus Aran by the way."

Kawalsky got a disapproving glance. "See? Y'should always find out 'bout a person before y'try to label 'em..." and promptly forgot his name, "dude. Saves a lotta of trouble."
The Ghost probably had more alcohol in her system than was good for someone of her size or constitution. But she didn't seem to care as attested to by the long pull she took from her third bottle. "Y'been here long, Kaylee?" She smiled widely, brushing her hair back from her face and sliding up onto one of the barstools.
"Mnnn. At least lemme finish it!" She mumbled at Samus, resting her head on arms against the bar and shutting her eyes for a moment. At the accusation though, her eyes popped open again and she pouted at the Hunter. "Oh c'mon. I was jus' playin' with him a little. Don't y'think he's a cutie?" She laughed, sitting up a moment to take another drink before laying her head in her arms again.
"Man, everything's swimmy." She mumbled

His wings twitched at Nova calling him cute again, and he snorted, "I am not cute. You really need to stop drinking before you pass out and force one of us to have to carry you out. I doubt Lex would be happy about having some stranger sleeping overnight on his bar."
no subject
"Only since the last pop," she replied to Nova. Nova would probably present more trouble than anyone, if she kept drinking the way she was. Kaylee reached over and pulled the bottle away from her the moment her head went down. "Problem solved," she said semi-triumphantly, before taking another drink out of her own bottle.
