Getting re-acquainted
The news that his 'world'--or universe, rather--had been destroyed seemed to have little effect on a certain nineteen year-old member of the crew. Eerily so. But as far as Cale was concerned, his world had been destroyed long before by another 'all-powerful' alien species...the Drej. Earth was gone, blown apart by a species of pure energy. There was no 'home' for Cale. There was no 'world.' It was already gone. What remained of humanity had scattered amongst the stars, living in squalor and enduring the cruelty of racism from the other species they were forced to live among. They weren't people anymore but had become little more than beggars, living out of old rusted-out ship hulls that had been melded together to form drifter colonies.
Poverty-stricken and with no planet to call their own, the human race--at least that of Cale's universe--was dying. It was going to extinct. They were destined for history books and museums. So, the sting of his whole universe being wiped out seemed to have little effect on him. He showed no signs of sadness, betrayed not tears or anger. He, for all intents and purposes, was going about his business as usual.
Making his way through the ship, he wandered the halls, checking out the newly opened areas with an almost childlike curiosity and excitement. Each new area seemed to hold even more technological wonders behind its doors, wonders that Cale couldn't wait to get his hands and study to figure out how they worked.
He seemed to be distracted, for the moment, from the task of tracking down Leela and making sure she was all right, that she was still alive. Surely, if something had happened to her, someone would have said something to him by now.

"Hey, what are you doing out here by yourself?" she asked, completely ignoring that she was doing the exact same thing.

"If I wanted to follow you, I wouldn't bother sneaking either."

Ok, now he was just having fun with her. If she was always this easily flustered, Cale may have just found the thing that was going to entertain him for the next few days.

Well, to be honest, she is. She's got a huge ego and a chip on her shoulder. So, have fun Cale. Have fun.

"Name's Cale," he finally said, extending a hand to her.

Asuka hated people like this. Probably because they were competition.

She jabbed a finger at him, "Next time, actually have something worth talking about before you shoot your mouth off!"

That's exactly what she does, there's a jump, her hands on his shoulders, a flip, and then she's ahead of him, skidding to a stop, and about to start running against, except--except...
She turns so quickly she nearly trips, and stops, staring at him.
It comes back. The memory of him comes back, now that she sees him again. Now, one would think that this would prompt her to go running over into his arms, but there's something else she has to do first. It involves shaking her fist at the ceiling.
"YOU *%$#-SUCKING, MOTHER-#&%*ING #$^&Y PIECE OF #$*%. HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME FORGET HIM, YOU STUPID #$@#%$$ %$#%$#% !@#!@#! I'M GONNA TEAR OUT YOUR #@%$%ing COMPUTER #$%# AND MAKE YOU @#@%& IT!"
She...knows a lot of curse words. And really, her first reaction to quite a few things is anger. Sure, she missed you Cale, without realizing it, but she has to make GLaDoS eat her own #$%# first for making her forget you in the first place.

Then came more relief the moment he realize that it wasn't him she was shouting at but, rather, the computer that had abducted him.
But as she ranted, that relief gave way to amusement and, dare he say it, flattery. A cocky smirk gradually began to tug at Cale's lips as he stared at an obviously enraged Leela.
"You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd almost think you kinda missed me," he said. He was gonna get his butt kicked. He knew it.

"I forgot you. Bitch made me forget you," she says in between kisses. "How could I forget you? You're an asshole, but you're one of my favorite assholes."
Awww, ain't she just sweet?
no subject
"Wow...that's...I mean...," he tried to say between Leela's smothering kisses. Not that he was knocking it. No way in Heeeell was he knocking it.
"Aw heck," he said, giving up on trying to talk to her. No. Talking was a waste of time. Not when you had hot girl all over you. Grabbing a hold of her waist, Cale rolled them over so that Leela was on the ground with him on top...for once.

They're making out on a floor in the hallways, but they at least still have clothes on.
"You--you are never--" she says in between kisses. "--allowed to disappear like that--again. Just so you know."
no subject
"I don't know, if this is what I'm gonna come back to every time, I might have to disappear a little more," he said with grin.

"Whoa?" he said, suddenly breaking away again. "Why isn't she stopping us?"
