Guns and Ammo [Closed]
Sokka had been thrilled that Kelly was willing to teach him more about how to use the strange things they called guns, especially if it meant being more useful to the crew on missions. Besides the fact that he got to spend some time with a fun new friend, guns were just a lot of fun to shoot. Noisy, dangerous and absolutely thrilling. He paused outside of Kelly's room, than pressed the small button that acted as a doorbell. He rocked back on his heels for a moment as he waited for her to open the door. Kelly had better be in there, or he just hoofed it over here for nothing!

She leaned a little closer, completely missing his blushing as she sighted down the weapon along with him. The target at the end of the range seemed to jump out at her as she focused on it, her voice taking on a hushed tone as she spoke, as if she were telling him some sort of secret.
"Now squeeze the trigger, don't pull it. Remember to exhale as you fire, and keep your shoulders tensed to absorb the impact." A smile flickered across her face as she remembered her own gun training.

"Squeeze the trigger. Don't pull..." He murmured, repeating her words. Okay. Focus on the firearm. Focus on the target. He took in a deep breath, focusing his mind to ignore all distractions, then slowly squeezed the trigger, sending a burst down the range. Then another. And another.

She didn't pull her hands away, helping him keep the gun steady as he fired. Not to mollycoddle him, but so he could get the feel of what it should feel like to handle the gun the right way. If could remember that, he'd definitely have it easier in the future. When the magazine clicked empty, she slid the gun out of his hands, pulling the empty mag and setting it aside, before reflexively clearing the chamber and setting the weapon down, all this of course, done in one fluid motion.
She pulled the target in to show him his new groups, now much closer together and nearer the center of the target. "See? It's not so hard." She smiled ah him.

"Awesome. I bet I'll have it down in no time, yeah?" He grinned at the taller woman, shifting his stance a little as they spoke.
"Thanks for your help..."
no subject
"Definitely. Just keep practicing." She grinned at him in return.
"Hey, if it helps you survive out there? That'll be thanks enough."

"We should do this again sometime."
