Daja couldn't really say she'd "settled in" yet - this place was so strange and alien, she wasn't sure if she'd ever settle in. But she'd learned to live with non-Traders - she would learn to live with these strangers too, somehow. Even if there was so much that she didn't understand, and she felt so lonely without her family and friends.

One thing she did know was that sitting around doing nothing and moping wouldn't be any use at all. She'd spent her life working, and surely even this unfathomable place needed smiths.

So she asked for directions, and found her way to the quarters of Captain Kirk. She'd met him at the orbs deck, and he was the only person in authority she knew. He'd answered her questions then, and she hoped he could help her now.

On arrival, she knocked briskly on his door. "Captain Kirk?"

The door slid open. Kirk had his omnicomm in his hand and had been tapping out some more notes to himself. He blinked, eyed Daja, and then smiled, "Ah! Hello there. What can I do for you?"

Kirk glanced down at his omnicomm, shrugged, and turned back inside, setting his omnicomm aside, "Of course! Please, come in."

Kirk shut the door behind her and turned to face the woman, smiling, "A forge? Well, I'm not quite sure if we have one, but feel free to set one up. It could come in useful at some point in the future - and it isn't as if we're short on space on the moment."

He nodded, "If you have the resources, feel free. If you need anything, I'll see if we can spare anything useful - you may want to coordinate with the engineering department on this one."

Kirk frowned, thinking, "Well, it might be possible to convert part of the lab or a building somewhere in the city. I'm afraid I'm not precisely a blacksmith myself, so the thought has never crossed my mind."

He smiled again, "I believe Billy is the one you'd like to speak to - see if you can get in touch with him or the department in general. They can probably help you. In fact, you may as well see who else is interested. Get the ball rolling."

"I believe the city would serve your purposes just fine then," Kirk smiled, "I wish you the best of luck. And, hopefully, he should be. If you can't find him there, I'd suggest using your omnicomm."
