Where's Vega?

Vega has missed the meet and greet, and the sensoriums are up. These two things, naturally, are related. If you step inside, you'll find yourself in a long room stretching off to each side with the wall across from you completely windowed, looking out into a massive arena. There's some kind of equipment off at one end, apparently a communication system of some kind. The lights are on but the screens are dark.

But what's most interesting is out on the field.

Two mecha face each other, a Command Wolf and a Rev Raptor. Both are painted matte black, the Rev has a grey number four painted on its left flank, the Wolf has a nine on its own but it can't be seen from this angle. It's a matchup as old as anything, the standard infantry of the Helic Republic against that of the Guylos Empire, despite that conflict lying centuries (and now a world) dead.

There's a signal, a loud buzzer going off that even penetrates the thickly shielded windows. The Zoids are still as stone for seconds on end, then....
The Raptor moves, taking a stride to the right as if it's going to run around the Wolf, which also springs into action. The gun on its back tracks ahead of its opponent, firing at where the Rev will be in- But the Raptor digs in its claws and reverses direction, stealing fractions of a second as the Wolf swings its gun around.

It's readily apparent that the Rev Raptor has the better pilot. The Zoids settle into a pattern of running in circles looking for openings, they're matched in speed and though the Wolf is the only one with a gun its shots aren't doing anything. It's as if the Raptor's pilot knows where he's going to shoot and when. It's leading the fight in a way that shows a great deal of practice, forcing the Command Wolf to move to avoid it and not giving it a chance to push back.

And suddenly, SLASH! The Raptor charges the Command Wolf by surprise halfway through a sidestepping, using those hooked blades on its back to slice the gun clean of its frame. Without a ranged weapon on the Wolf, its opponent has nothing to fear from coming in close with the claws. The fight heats up as the two Zoids snap and bite at each other, each trying to avoid blows and being pinned. They both take some damage but the lighter Rev Raptor eventually breaks away and bolts out. The Wolf turns to face it with a challenging bark, the Raptor hisses.

They charge each other, leaping to meet in the air, but the Raptor does something... unsual. As it moves it twists its upper body, flaring the blades out on either side.

The Wolf's forepaws miss it, and the Zoids land.

There's a small clinking noise and in a dramatic fashion, the Command Wolf's left legs both fold. They've been cut clean through at the elbow and knee joints. The Zoid pitches over, raising a cloud of dirt from the arena floor. It lies on its side, motionless.

The buzzer goes off again, and the Rev Raptor gives a high snarl in triumph.

"Awwright!" a voice yells out. The comm system's alive now, the side screens apparently full of technical gibberish regarding the state of the Rev Raptor.
The middle one shows its pilot. And its pilot is Vega, panting slightly and grinning a mile wide. He laughs.

[OOC: Feel free to come in whenever during the course of the battle/before it/after it, but Vega can't talk until he's finished his fight.]
