Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

That was unexpected, but definitely not unwanted. Katara squealed when she was picked up, and was laughing once she was set back down again. Really, she had to remember how strong Carol was!

"The mission went well," Katara said, grinning. "I was able to help distribute things out to the poor, give respect for those passed, and I even got to take down some corporate thugs!" She had no idea what that term meant, but seemed to be on par with "the bad guys."

"Oh, and I got you a gift!" Katara exclaimed, and brought out s small, black box. "I hope you like it!"

Carol looked to the gift and blinked. "Katara, you didn't have to give me anything. You're the best gift that anyone could have given me." She never thought she'd ever say that, but there it was. She smiled brighter at that and opened the gift anyways.

That actually meant a lot coming from Carol, and Katara actually had to clear her throat from the lump forming, then smiled. "That means a lot Carol, really. But I had to get you something, so I hope you like it."

The present is a locket (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/elpedrososama/necklace-locket.jpg) that plays a small tinkling tune, akin to "Memories," cliche to most but completely new to Katara. She looks a little sheepish, as this was small, but something Katara hoped carol saw as a symbol of their sort of relationship.

Carol finished opening the gift with a smile, and gasped a bit as she saw the locket. She picked it up gingerly and held it up admiring it. She continued to smile even as she reached over and pulled Katara into a hug. "I love it, Katara."

Katara returned the hug, and was looking almost shy, but very happy. "I thought of you when I saw it. It was like a flower growing in a place that seems ugly: you think it wouldn't be there, that it would die, but there is it just the same, making its home."

She hoped she understood she was saying she was unique.

Carol nodded and smiled, just holding Katara and looking at the locket. "It's truly perfect."

At this, Katara was genuinely happy and hugged Carol tighter. "I;m really glad you like it, mom."
