Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Lyle nods. "I'm Invisible Kid."

It's an automatic response, although Lyle realizes she probably has no idea who he is, even if she's met Sensor and Brainy.

"Doctor Ahava Yewande," she answered, offering a hand. "Apparently I'm from something of a parallel world to yours. Similar Legions, but different events.

"I've met Brainiac 5 already," she added, "and he mentioned a teammate named Sensor, but I wasn't aware there were more of you here now."

Lyle shakes her hand, smiling a little at that. "I just arrived. That sounds interesting. We've met some similar Legions, but not for long."

"What's your field?" Doctor could mean a lot of things.

"Well if anyone can adapt to this situation in no time, it'd be the Legion," Ahava remarked.

She smiled at the question. "Largely physics and engineering, but I have a decent enough grounding in the biological sciences to lend a hand with those areas. And you? Do you have any interest in the sciences, Invisible Kid?"

Lyle enjoys the compliment. "It's a bit of a job requirement."

Lyle gives a small laugh at the question. It's been a long time since anyone asked him that.

"You could say that. I'm more of an inventor than a researcher, though. I invented the invisibility serum and ... well, these," He holds up his hand to display his ring and diligently adds, "From materials Brainy made."

Ahava raised an eyebrow at that, glancing down at the ring in interest before meeting Invisible Kid's eyes again. "That kind of ingenuity won't go to waste here, I imagine," she said. "By the sounds of it, we'll need every resource available to us."

Lyle nods. "Which is why I'm glad to meet another scientist."

She chuckled softly. "There's quite a few of us, don't worry. In fact, you should probably contact Luis if you're interested in working with the rest of us. He's head of the science division." She thought for a moment, then added, "and I'm sure Brainiac can fill you in on more about it later as well."

"I'm counting on it." says Lyle, "He should keep me busy until I catch up."

That got an interested look. "You're a friend of his as well as a teammate?"

"Well, yeah." He states it as though it's so obvious he's not sure why she would ask.

"That's good," she answered. "From how he was when we met, he could use another friend."

Lyle frowns. "You're talking about when the other Brainy died?"

If there's anything else upsetting Brainy, he wants to know about it. And he obviously doesn't mind gossiping to find out.

"Yes," Ahava said. "I'm not sure about the circumstances myself, since I arrived after it had happened-" Which was a pity, since she'd have liked to have met the other boy. "-but I met Brainiac when he was dealing with the body. It seemed like he could do with more friends around, especially now."

Lyle's mouth presses into a line. Dealing with the body? They hadn't really let Brainy ... ahh, grife.

"I see. Hopefully, I'll be able to help."

It was a matter of whether Brainy would let him.
