Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Contrary to popular opinion, Lex wasn't a completely heartless bastard. He was only rarely afforded the opportunity to be kind without it biting him in the ass.

"Perhaps, or perhaps not."

He thought for a moment, then reached into one of the bags he was carrying and pulled out a small-sized box.

"Here, maybe this will make you feel better," he stated as he offered it to her. "Just don' tell anyone you got it from me."

Katara would never have accused Lex of being heartless, just very shrewd and calculating. She figured with all of those plans of his in action wouldn't allow him to waste time with others. At least, that's what she thought Azula might say, anyway.

"Time will tell there, I guess," she said, then pinked a little when he brought out the package.

"If that's what you want," she said, "But I didn't get you anything. If you can calculate your birthday, could you tell me, so I could get something for you?"

Though really, what could anyone actually GET Lex Luthor?

Lex was never one waste time, no, but there have been so few people worth the effort. Most people didn't like him because of the last name Luthor, and the few people he had ever befriended betrayed him at some point or another.

"Don't worry much about that." Lex could get just about anything he wanted, so most material gifts didn't hold any significance. "Just enjoy your gift."

Inside the small box was... a snowglobe. Nothing terribly fancy, really. It was an impulse buy, some trinket he purchased simply because he now had the ability to, but he figured she might like it more. Now she could see the snow whenever she wanted.

"If you say so," Katara said, although she still didn't quite get why she shouldn't tell anyone. She took off the wrapping, not sure exactly what to expect, considering the weight. Once she'd undone all of the wrappings, her mouth fell open.

She knew about glass, sure, and certainly there were some cute knick knacks in her world, but even Katara wondered how a glass globe could actually appear to have snow in it. It wasn't real snow of course, she could tell that much, but it WAS a wonderful gift and it would make her think fondly of the Southern Water Tribe.

So much for the "evil" Lex Luthor! She was definitely glad she hadn't agreed with Sokka about knocking him out.

"It's so pretty," Katara said, and though she was sure he would probably not appreciate the forward move, she gave him a small hug. "Thank you so much! I'll never forget The Southern Water tribe as long as I have this. Did the holidays treat you well too? You weren't hurt at all, were you?"

And right back to mother mode, Katara.

Lex didn't expect the hug, but it wasn't unappreciated. He simply hoped no one would give her flak for it.

"I had a good trip," he had to admit. "I got a lot of things done. And I'm quite fine. Not a scratch on me." There was barely even a wrinkle in his new suit.

Katara would have lashed out at anyone who would have gotten on her case about it, but he didn't need to know that. When Katara's loyalty was to someone, it was hard to make her waver.

"Our trip was good too. We got a lot of prayer time, visited the dead, and even got to help out the poor! There was a little bit of trouble when those insurgents from Macrwhosis arrived, but we dealt with them pretty well. But I'm glad you're unharmed!"

He liked that she was enthusiastic about her time there, even the helping the poor part. It was cute.

"Well, I can't say I got to do all of that. But... let's just say I got to make sure Macrohard won't be in a position to bother anyone for quite a while."

Katara would have been the first to say that there are times she is too perk for her own good. But here, she thought it might be helpful.

"I'm glad to hear it. Those people needed more than artificial environments to help them enjoy life. I couldn't imagine what joy they'd get out of sitting by themselves playing games."
