Siege on the North Pole

Of course, the task entrusted to our beloved heroes of the Meatcrew won't be easily accomplished. They're being watched. Small, robotic Arctic foxes, a product of Macrohard, studies the crew as they come through the portal. They watch the set up; they see them go into the realm of the Holiday Spirit, and leave in their flying cars to spread joy in the world. The portal is left open--this is their chance to strike.

This joy, this happiness, this plan? Unacceptable. These creatures are the surveillance for Macrohard. The crew's plan is out, and this corporation is not pleased. The crew's efforts are threatening Macrohard's dominance of the season, but the most effective tactic isn't fighting the crew--oh no. What they'll do instead is go after the Holiday Spirit itself. There is no other option: the threat must be eliminated, once and for all.

Luckily, Macrohard happens to have access to the most technologically advanced weaponry available. The most dangerous mercenaries are on their payroll. Troops of mecha nutcrackers, cybernetic polar bears, and candy cane-wielding arctic ninjas are on route to the North Pole to finish up the job.

[OOC: These are small teams, so try to keep Infiltration Team in one thread, and try to do a LOT of group threads in the others.]

Keeping up with hedgehogs was no easy task, as Alessa was used to attacking at a solid pace. Still, she didn't mind quickening the attack, rendering the ELFs from the sky and to the ground. It would stun her later, to realize it was very possible she was enjoying the moment.

"Fifteen," she said, making sure her count was accurate.

Shadow's too caught up in the action that he doesn't notice the ribbon grenades exploding, tangling him up.

"Wh-what in the...?! Get this off me!" Shadow shouted, struggling to get out. "Sonic, everyone, stay on your toes! They got tricks up their sleeves!"

"Come on! Bring it on!" Sonic shouted. He'd long stopped just running, settling into a Spindash that cut across the snow like a buzzsaw, leaving melted slush that quickly refroze behind him. The ribbon grenades were cut to pieces by his spin, but he just bounced off the energy shields.

"Can't you spindash too, Shads?" he asked, glancing over at the black and red hedgehog a moment.

Alessa avoided the ribbon grenades, but not without difficulty. Weaving in and out of these sorts of attacks were making her rethink her advance, so she hung back a moment, watching the hedgehogs again. The playfullness was gone momentarily, and here she watched a moment, no movement leaving her stare. Sonic was able to avoid the grenades too, but now they employing shields as well. Alessa waited a moment more, then struck at the shields themselves, pushing against them with her own demonic energy. If there was even a minute crack in that defense, Alessa would find it and end the shields on all of these things.

"Try for the shields." It was quietly spoken, but rang in both of their ears.

"I'm trying! These things are tougher than they look," Sonic replied, spinning past another grenade and shredding two others. This was getting really hairy, and Sonic really didn't want this fight to go on much longer.

"Maybe if we circle around behind 'em while they're in mid-air?"

"That would be a good idea...!" Shadow grunted, finally getting tired of struggling and just spinning out. "There... now let's get them to get up there...!"

With that, Shadow created another Chaos Spear and launched at one of the E.L.F.s, watching it slam against their shields.

Alessa did notice that the ELFs were making thing s difficult for Shadow so she struck out at them, forcing her own barrier at them, to force them into submission.

She went a little out at this point, grabbing and smashing until she vanished a moment. But only seconds later she emerged, crunching the soldiers in any way she'd grasp them.

The recoil from the shields were vicious, painful.

"Keep going!" she yelled. "None reach the portal!"

"Right! You got it!" Sonic still refused to kill, but that didn't mean he had to hold back. He began bouncing from shield to shield at speeds that made keeping up with him all but impossible. The most anyone might have seen was a blue streak of light as he sped by them, and even that was far behind him as he moved.
