Siege on the North Pole

Of course, the task entrusted to our beloved heroes of the Meatcrew won't be easily accomplished. They're being watched. Small, robotic Arctic foxes, a product of Macrohard, studies the crew as they come through the portal. They watch the set up; they see them go into the realm of the Holiday Spirit, and leave in their flying cars to spread joy in the world. The portal is left open--this is their chance to strike.

This joy, this happiness, this plan? Unacceptable. These creatures are the surveillance for Macrohard. The crew's plan is out, and this corporation is not pleased. The crew's efforts are threatening Macrohard's dominance of the season, but the most effective tactic isn't fighting the crew--oh no. What they'll do instead is go after the Holiday Spirit itself. There is no other option: the threat must be eliminated, once and for all.

Luckily, Macrohard happens to have access to the most technologically advanced weaponry available. The most dangerous mercenaries are on their payroll. Troops of mecha nutcrackers, cybernetic polar bears, and candy cane-wielding arctic ninjas are on route to the North Pole to finish up the job.

[OOC: These are small teams, so try to keep Infiltration Team in one thread, and try to do a LOT of group threads in the others.]

Plugged into her car, Lafiel had been perfectly at home on this delivery. She'd missed the feeling of synchronizing, of bringing together of Abh and machine. It wasn't her Basroil but it was close enough and she hummed happily as she made her deliveries.

Then the message had gone out on the comms and she veered back towards the portal, face set, feeling the familiar rush before battle.

"This is Lafiel. I'm coming through the portal. I'll circle their line to split them." And she did just that as she came through the portal.

Flying through that inferno of anti-aircraft lasers would have been impossible for a human pilot. Lafiel, however, was getting to show off exactly what the Abh were created for, weaving between beams that singed the arctic night and infused it with a stink of ozone.

'Vadum gave a quick nod to the human who had made it out of the flaming wreckage of one of the cars as he entangled a group of bears with vines that seemingly appeared from no where, the bears quickly reduced to slag as he turned the plasma rifle on them.

The Sangheili darting a glance back to the fellow alien at his reply, shifting his grip on his plasma rifle to hold it by the top section, "Here, use this," with that 'Vadum threw the plasma rifle across to him, the weapon though small to him was just over two feet in length and not particularly light, weighing around 13 lbs. Instructing the other alien quickly "Keep watch of the heat indicator on the left, let the bar fill and the weapon will overheat,"

Taking stock of the situation once more, a nod given at Lafiel's message, "Do what you can, anything that may give us an advantage is welcome," He replied quickly as the car in question burst from the portal, snapping his gaze to the one who had entangled the previous wave, "How many can you entrap at once?" he snapped the quick question even as he drew a plasma grenade.

"focus fire on the larger targets, I shall deal with anything that get close,"

"Enough." replied Matt to 'Vadum as he focused his magic.

All of the borrowed energies that he could muster coalesced into his hand as the Heart of Kandrakar flared to life in it. Energy thrummed down the ribbon as he faced them all.

"Come get some!" roared the teen as he snapped the ribbon.

On cue, an entire wave of attacking robots were immobilized, strong vines ripping free from the ground as Matt strained. This was taking most of his powers, and he would soon need to recharge.

But he wasn't done. Far from it.

Crackling magic burst from his hands, flashing like lightning as huge massive chunks of ice burst from the ground, flashing water and freezing waves into place. Wind howled and froze many on the spot, and with substantial control, unleashed a torrent of flame. Sweat beaded down Matt's forehead from the effort and flame as it smashed into an entire wave of enemies.

Slumping to the ground, he coughed and panted as he looked at the heart that still glowed. "It's still not enough..." he groaned as he struggled backwards to the lines.

Aeneas gave a nod of thanks to his alien companion, just barely managing to capture the new, extremely heavy weapon. This creature…wasn’t exactly made to carry things over ten pounds, at least not in his arms. Using this gun might take some getting used to.

Now, how exactly does one use a gun?

Contemplating this, rather befuddled by the idea that he could actually attack from a distance, Aeneas was just distracted enough to catch the spectacular scene created by his human friend Matt. He was dumfounded for most of it; if the gesture was something he’d been familiar with, Aeneas’s jaw would’ve dropped. Admittedly he was still skeptical about that ‘magic’ business that Matt had brought up a while ago, even after seeing him create vines and gusts of wind seemingly out of thin air.

No. This was fairly convincing.

Unfortunately the display took quite a lot of energy out of him. Startled by Matt’s sudden bout of weakness, Aeneas edged over to him towards the back of the line. This diversion was sufficient to keep him from noticing the nutcrackers begin forming together…

“Matt, that was amazing!” Aeneas trilled, caught in a temporary struggle between astonishment and concern, “Are—did that injure you in any way? You should probably go inside the portal and res—“

Giant candy cane!

Without thinking, Aeneas dropped the plasma rifle and flung himself at Matt.

Booth felt a little outgunned at times because he wasn't used to shooting robots. He was rather relieved that some of the people around him had more useful powers and things to fight with.

"I would say "what the hell?"" he said when the candy cane came "But it's hard to be surprised anymore." He could shoot it though, so he tried to help the two it was heading for, using the dracon gun. It was modified, but maybe he could deflect a few pieces at least.

Giant Candy Cane!

Matt registered it too seconds before he was smashed out of the way by Aeneas. It was going to hit, so he had to do something.

Mustering up as much power as possible, he slammed his hands down on the ground, upheaving the earth in order to catch it, and praying to God that he caught it in time. His leg throbbed from the impact and he stuggled to his hands and feet, staring up at the blade.

"Will's going to kill me if that thing impacts," he realized.

'Vadum gave a battlecry as he leapt aside the Megacrackers giant weapon, rolling to his feet in one motion before charging in towards the large monstrosity of a nutcracker.

Sprinting forward even as the earth began to rise, the Sangheili leaping up the slop of that rising earth using it as something of a catapult, springing high from it and toward the huge nutcracker's down swinging arm.

Impacting heavily 'Vadum scrabbled for a grip, driving his blade into the side of the arm even as his free hand found a grip. The Sangheili using all of his strength as he dragged and swung himself further up the arm with both hand and blade, attempting to reach the monstrosities head.

"I really feel inferior around all of you" Booth commented. He was beginning to wish he had some kind of magical powers or something. But another part of him knew that there were things just as important-courage, integrity, honor...

He just wished he could be more effective in this fight somehow. His bullets were slowing the 'bots, but metal isn't something you can penetrate well unless it's very thin.
