A Meeting of the Minds

[[OOC: Bendy-timed to before the Holiday plot.]]

Jeka arrived at the Jedi Temple that had been claimed as the headquarters of the Magic Department. A quick inspection of her surroundings indicated that Satori hadn't arrived yet, which didn't bother Jeka that much. She didn't mind waiting, especially when the being she was waiting for was likely to be along shortly anyway.

She passed the time by admiring the architecture. Most buildings on Orando were built into hillsides, and very rarely reached more than a few stories in height. One of the things she'd enjoyed since leaving her home planet was seeing all the things other sentients did with their building materials, and the most interesting examples had always been temples. She and Reep had discussed the reasons for that, and he'd promised to show her some of Durla's temples. They'd never gotten around to taking that trip.

She really, truly hoped that the Daligig were lying about their universes being destroyed. And she hoped that Reep and the others would wake up soon as well.

Satori was a firm believer in being fashionably late. Not having anything else to do, she still stalled, lazily making her way to the Temple, arriving a few minutes after the promised time.

"It took me a while to find the temple," Satori lied as she floated in. After all, if what Nanoha had said was true, she couldn't read Satori's mind, right?

"And you must be Jeka Wynzorr." Satori bowed herself, a hair deeper than Jeka. "And I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm from Earth. I lived in the Underground City, beneath Gensokyo." There was a brief pause, calculated to make it unlcear whether she read the lack of recognition of the name 'Gensokyo' from Jeka's mind or from her face. "A part of Japan, from a certain perspective."

"America? Heavens no, they're quite far apart." somehow, the idea of other worlds was easier to get used to than people from different time periods. She sighed lightly, and steered the conversation back in a relevant direction. "Nevertheless, I'm sure we can both agree that we didn't come here to discuss geography, yes?"

"Well, I can't do anything that impressive," in spite of downplaying her own usefulness, Satori smiled subtly. "But I can read the thoughts of others as naturally as you might hear what they say out loud."

She paused for a moment, trying to pick a suitably unknowable example. "For example, whenever you think of mind-reading, you associate it with a blonde-haired woman, young but taller than me."

"Surface thoughts, and with a bit more concentration, memories." Satori dug a bit deeper into Sensor's heart, but decided it wasn't necessary to demonstrate this time. "The subconscious, I'm afraid, is closed to me."

"No." Satori looked around at the architecture, her Third Eye remaining focused on Jeka. "That, I gather, is your specialty, not mine."

A smile spread across Satori's face. "We'll need a volunteer."
