I've got a song that's halfway there

Adam stood a bit nervously on the stage that the Sensorium provided. He knew the audience was all fake. Well, except for Billy in the corner. But it was still nerve wracking to play in a concert where all eyes, fake or otherwise, were on him.

He gave a tentative smile to Billy and immediately started to strum the guitar in a fast tempo. The bass and drums were provided by the Sensorium quickly after, seemingly knowing how the song will go regardless.

Adam opened his mouth and sang.

[OOC: I'll be posting Youtube links throughout the post as people start tagging and all. Each song are by Eyeshine. For those who don't know, Adam Park's actor is the lead singer of Eyeshine so all these songs will be in Adam's voice regardless :3]

The last song affected Billy the most. He bowed his head at the end, quietly reflecting on the sacrifice that had brought them to that point. Adam had a way of expressing the thoughts that were important that Billy could never hope to match, not even with his expanded vocabulary.

As the notes faded and he joined the vigorous applause, Billy quietly ended the illusion. It was time to face up to the results of his deception. With a quiet wish that the crew will react as he intended, he stood and moved to the area in front of the stage.

"I've told you before that your talent is phenomenal, Adam. I wanted to prove that to you." He briefly turned back to the now mostly-empty seats, signaling that anyone who wanted to was free to speak.

Tony clapped appreciatively, "Not m'usual kinda music, but you got talent, dude. Nice job!"

He flashed a thumbs up at Adam, "Keep rockin'."

"That third song, especially, was..." Jamie tries to find a word that will work, but can't find exactly the one he wants to use. He winds up settling for, "Verra, verra good."

It's clear from his face that he is impressed, even if he can't quite express that the way he wants to.

"Exquisite," Jeka murmured, as if to answer Jamie's unvoiced search for the proper words. She had shed her humanoid appearance when Billy canceled the Sensoriums' illusion, since that had taken her hat with it. "Absolutely marvelous. You have nothing to be embarrassed about, and every reason to be proud."

She thought she ought to find out what and where this "Vegas" was, since she had the feeling she was going to be humming the refrain later.

Jono's right there with the others, clapping. No shouting. Telepathic shouting could be very weird. Ain't really me kin'a music either, but yer damn good with 'at guitar. And he does know what he's talking about, judging from the callouses on his fingers.

He's still wearing that silly beard, though.

"I'm just glad I got a chance to hear ye." Jamie replies with a shrug, although he's smiling as well. "I hope ye'll consider playing more often."

It's served him well so far to let everyone else do the talking for him, and it looked like Adam had received the message.

Billy walked up to his friend's side on the stage, looking unusually shy. "I'm sorry about the trick. You have my full permission to take similar action against me if you ever deem it necessary. I know that doesn't excuse the behavior, and the gamble I unfairly took with you, but...now you know."
