[Open] It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight...
Asuka slumped against the wall just beyond the sensoriums outer door with a groan. Her legs hurt. Her arms hurt. Places she didn't know existed hurt. Part of her was asking why the hell she had ever agreed to let that crazy woman teach her martial arts. There had been running. Lots of running. She remembered it quite clearly. Supposedly to build her cardiovascular endurance or something. There had been drills, endlessly repeated movements, over and over again. She'd been tossed around, bruised, battered, and if she looked as tired as she felt, she couldn't look that good. She shook her head, pushing sweat-slick hair out of her eyes and pushed back to her feet, muscles screaming in protest.
She should quit, part of her murmured, give up. And then the other part of her screamed that thought down and kicked it to the curb. She was not going to give up, she was not going to quite. She would get better. She would be better then Luly. She would be the best pilot and hand-to-hand fighter on this ship or she would die trying. If she wasn't, she would be nothing, after all. She had a new drive, a new purpose, a new cause. She wasn't going to quit.
Which didn't mean she wasn't going to complain, of course, but that was just how Asuka operated. She headed for her new room (and the real showers). She needed one right about now.
Of course, she was also looking horribly shaky and she paused to lean against a wall until her legs stopped hurting quite so much. She grumbled under her breath as she tried to massage out a cramp.

As he did, he stopped and noticed Asuka in pain. He let out a snort.
"Pathetic." He said. Let her react, he didn't care.

"...fuck off!"

Kelly had been on the way to the Precint. She'd stored her armor there. But she liked to check up on it. Her room didn't have the facilities, or the space to effectively store it after all. Specially when John was using most of the space for his armor and things. She understood feeling naked outside the thing, but really.
Seeing the girl leaning against a wall and massaging out a cramp, she walked over and leaned down a little. "Got a cramp?"

Ah, pride. It goeth before the fall.

The look that Kelly gave her very clearly said 'Either you sit down willingly or I will knock your unconscious.' Or something to that effect at least. She wasn't about to let this young girl injure herself any further. But still, she could understand the need to protect her pride.
"You'll pull something if you don't work the cramp out. Now sit down and let me help. You won't be any help to the crew if you hurt yourself."
no subject
She didn't think she did, anyway. At least, she shouldn't. She should be able to do everything without relying on others.

"Where is the cramping? Here?" She squeezed one spot just slightly.

She hissed in pain, trying to draw her leg back as Kelly's fingers squeezed down, "Hey! Watch it!"

Well, she knew about pride. Independence. Not relying on anyone. But really this girl was taking it a bit far. Even the Spartans, each one a super soldier in their own right, functioned better as a team. Time enough for the girl to learn that though.
When she hissed, Kelly's fingures instantly loosened, but she didn't let her draw her leg back, keeping a firm hand under her calf. "Sorry. You mind straightening your leg for me?"
no subject
She tried straightening the leg and managed it with another slight wince and a grimace, pain shooting up her leg, "Ow... ow."
Of course, it hurt worse. She held it there, stubbornly, gritting her teeth through the pain. She wasn't going to give up now. Even if it did hurt. A lot.

The Spartan frowned and gently began to massage the problem area. This girl had pushed herself far too hard to be cramping so badly. "It's going to hurt for awhile. But hang in there."
Her muscles were tensing. That wasn't good. If she'd tried to walk any more she probably would have pulled something. Still frowning she continued massaging, rubbing a litte to warm and relax the muscles.

Her fingers continued to work deftly over the skin, massaging and rubbing to help the girl relax. "Let me know when it starts to feel better."

Kelly didn't let up the massaging. If she she could get the girl to relax completely, then the ache would go away. At least for awhile. It would probably hit her pretty hard tomorrow though. What had she been doing to over exert herself so badly?
"How's the other leg?"

"I'll walk with you, if that's alright? Just to make sure you don't cramp up again."

"I'd just like to make sure you get there alright. Wouldn't do to have you falling over in another hallway, would it?" She smiled amiably, easily keeping pace with the girl. First off, Asuka wasn't that fast with her sore legs. And secondly, Kelly could keep up with pretty much anyone.

She rounded on the older woman, jabbing an accusatory finger at her, "I can take care of myself!"
no subject
She waved off the indignant demand airily.
Smiling still. "I'll see you to your room. It's no big deal. Crew mates should look out for one another."
Kelly just raised a brow when the finger poked her in the chest. Folding her arms, she just tilted her head and just stared down at the girl. Maybe she would get the ridiculousness of the situation. "I have no doubt about that. But I would prefer if you didn't fall over in a hallway."

"Everyone needs help from time to time." She remarked blandly. This girl really was trying to be infuriating.
