It's a simple repair job. A couple of frayed wires, easily taken care of - even by the Jamie of a few months ago, when he was first learning to to fix this sort of thing. Today, however, he finds himself staring down at the colorful mess in front of him, unable to focus on the task at hand. He feels...odd. Fuzzy-headed, similar to the feeling of not getting enough sleep the night before. Trying to think was like trying to push through a mass of cobwebs spun from some giant spider beastie - his mind able to get free one moment, only to wind up stuck again the next.
With a sigh, he pushes himself out from under the console and sits up, rubbing at his eyes and giving up on the idea of doing the repair for the moment. Maybe a walk to clear his head would be a better idea. He'll not do the department any good while he's like this.
Blindly reaching for the console and pulling himself to his feet, he's unaware that there's been a subtle shift in the length of his hair and sideburns, both of which have just become a little bit shorter. He's caught in a memory - Turner, telling him to grab the radio they need to keep in touch with U.N.I.T. and get it out of here. As he takes a few steps towards the door, a burning sensation runs through his leg, and he lurches forward. Packer and his guards aren't actually here and shooting at him, but the result is much the same. As more of his time slips away, the faint scar on his calf turns back into the bullet wound that it had once been, causing him to inadvertently cry out in pain. Even so, he manages to stumble out of Engineering and into the halls of Stacy, not really thinking about much more then trying to get away before he's fired on again.
((OOC: Closed, but if someone really wants to visit Jamie in medbay after Rory examines him, please PM and I'll set something up.))

Despite all the chaos the ship had been going through for the past little while Sandy had managed to keep herself out of trouble. Save for that one falling off a building incident life had been pretty tame. She spent most of her days wandering alone or messing around with her room mate, and the closest friend she'd had in as long as she could remember, Hana.
And today Hana and Sandy were off looking around for something to do, and walking Hana's pet feline/canine/dragon thing that he had bought on the merchant planet when they'd stopped. It was kind of like two roommates getting a cat really.
Strolling through the lush plant life and strange creatures was like walking into a movie for Sandy, despite the fact that she was flying through space on a ship made of meat. Nature was always fascinating for the city girl, though she wouldn't necessarily want to move out to the mountains and become a hermit.
((OOC: Just out for some CR and mingling randomly, no real plan here, but Hana will likely be the first one to respond to whomever appears. :) ))

She'd heard it from Einhart, and she'd heard it from Kang - and that Signum was going around the ship and attacking those with magic left no doubt in Nanoha's mind. She, like Reinforce - like Fate - had reverted to an earlier point in time. Signum was reliving the Book of Darkness incident all over again, and stealing peoples' Linker Cores... but without Hayate to tell her no, how could she be convinced otherwise?
No, the only thing to do was to stop her herself. And that was Nanoha's job - she and Fate had fought the Wolkenritter before, and she would fight the General of the Raging Fire again.
The only problem was that she had no idea how to find her.
Nanoha kept her power ratcheted down as she flew through Stacy's endless hallways, trying to sense a spark of magic that she recognized. She had no doubt that Signum had been trying to avoid her intentionally - if she'd been collecting the energy from Linker Cores, why wouldn't she have been one of the first targets? No, the knight was too smart for that; she'd likely been trying to avert a showdown of the sort that Nanoha was now trying to force.
Signum might be trying to avoid her magical signature... but it'd be significantly more difficult to avoid something barely more than a blip on the radar.
"Wide Area Search, Engage."
Six tiny orbs of pink light burst from the head of Nanoha's Device, each zooming down Stacy's corridors in a different direction, instructed to lock on to the nearest powerful magical sign. And Nanoha herself still flew, waiting for a result.
(ooc: Locked to Nanoha and Signum. If you want to get in / be an onlooker, just hit us up on AIM first.)

It had taken some time for Aqua to get back on her feet after Signum's attack. She'd gotten herself patched up at Medical, but pain was another thing entirely.
As it was, she was limiting herself to the Masaki house, doing her best to take it easy while trying to recover.

"Toothless! Oh, Toooothless! You hungry, bud?"
Hiccup still preferred to feed the dragon, even if Toothless could will up food anytime if he wanted. It was their way of spending time together. Hiccup would feed him, Toothless would happily regurgitate some, Hiccup would politely decline and maybe fry up his own, un-eaten fish, and they'd just spend an hour or two in each other's company.
Toothless wasn't there in his Sensorium, though, but that didn't worry Hiccup at first. The dragon was free to wander where he wanted, and he could've been anywhere.
So he took to the halls.
"Toothless! Where are you, buddy? It's dinnertime! Toooothless!"
Not in his forge. Not in Daja's Forge. Not in the Drunken Dragon. Not near the river, not on Obs, not in the halls, not in any of the other Sensoriums, not there, not there, not there, not there.
Hiccup was in something of a panic towards the end.
"Toothless! Buddy! C'mon, where are you? Toothless! This isn't funny! No hide and seek, okay? Where are you?"
He knew. In his heart of hearts, he knew.
It was in the Spacewalk that he finally stopped, late, very late, when most were sleeping, when Astrid would've been expecting him come to bed, and there, heartbroken, he asked Stacy the question he knew was going to get an answer that he didn't want to hear.
"Stacy, where's Toothless? Where is he?!"
||There is no one named Toothless on the active crew roster.||
Repodded.
Hiccup knew he was safe, he knew he was even safer than if he was outside, he knew he'd see him again, but all the things he knew didn't matter when juxtaposed with one, simple fact. His best friend was gone. His best friend, who'd been by his side near-constantly since they'd taken their first flight together, was gone. His best friend who'd comforted him through the end of his world, through horror and being bed-bound with injuries, who'd kept him sane even when trapped in another form in Fairplay, who loved him all the times he couldn't love himself--he was gone.
Gone gone gone.
If anyone were to come by the Spacewalk, they'd find a teenage boy sitting on the floor, staring out of the clear panels of the tunnel there, at the stars and twisting dimensions going by.
"I'll find you, bud. She can't hide you away forever, and if she tries, I'll find you. I swear."
His knobbly knees were drawn up, with his arms around them, and he was very pointedly, very purposefully, not crying. He wasn't crying at all.
[ooc: Can be a standalone, as he's emo-ing pretty badly, but if anyone's nice to him during it, he'll probably seek them out and try to be friends later.] - Tags:!location: the spacewalk, !status: open, astrid hoffersson, chancellor, hiccup, kang, kanoe zouichi, kaya, ruffnut thorston, snow villiers, sokka, zuko
