(no subject)

Robo had been spending most of his free time (which was, at his last count, ALL of his time.) scavenging around for spare parts and building something, sometimes in his room, and sometimes at work table in engineering. His device, when complete, looks sort of like a portable TV. He flicks on the screen and something like an infinite tunnel appears. After shifting it around a bit, he seems satisfied and clicked it off. This would probably turn out useful at some point or another.

Kirk had just been stopping by to see if there was anything useful or interesting going on in engineering. It looked like something was. He eyed Robo for a moment - he'd seen him at the crew gathering, of course, but he hadn't spoken with him.

"Greetings. Captain James T. Kirk, USS Enterprise, acting first officer. Finding everything all right?"

Kirk nodded. He wasn't entirely used to artificial life, but he knew how to deal with it, "Pleased to meet you, Robo. And I quite agree, at least on some counts."

He glanced at the device curiously, "Do you mind if I ask what you're working on?"

Kirk eyed himself on the screen, then grinned and handed it back, "Excellent work, Robo. That's the kind of thinking we need aboard this ship."
