Show me the REAL beds, plz [Closed]
This ship was odd, he wasn’t really sure what was going on or where they were supposedly going. Hell, they could have been in the belly of a giant whale for all anyone knew. He wanted to lean up against a wall while he waited for Dick, but there was something that was weird about leaning against a living ship...thing, whatever it was.
Either way he did need someone to show him around, and Dick was miles above Jason when it came to being tolerable. No, miles were an understatement. He didn’t know if it was just a Batman or Robin thing or what, but it seemed like every other member of the Bat family was either a douche or somehow insane.

Dick walked onto the Obs Deck, raising his hand with a grin. "That is so not fair," he said, making a motion toward the Green Lantern uniform.

“So you know the USS Beefstick pretty well, huh?”

“So tell me.. do I really have to eat that slop… I mean this is Soviet Russia or anything. ” He had a few thousand questions...

Dick laughed and shook his head. "You're lucky. A couple times a week, we get real food now. Though a lot of us took to taking meals in the Sensoriums. Which makes it at least look and taste a bit more appetizing."
no subject
“…and really, I still need for someone to prove to me that I’m not dead.”

Dick blinked at Kyle, then shook his head. "Stacy pulls people from the last moment that she could before the timeline collapsed around them. Or so we've been told. And she apparently heals them, too." He made a motion to himself. "Like the last thing I remember? Is making my way to the Tower to call up help while Batman went to deal with Brother I." Because, well...it was Bruce's fault, wasn't it?

skymeat...sky thing..."You haven't seen any dead people coming back as zombies or black power rings floating about, have you?"
no subject
Mention of zombies made him shudder and grimace. "Zombies, yes. Black power rings, no." He glanced over. "Ours were more the usual movie type zombies, though there were a lot of variation in them."

"Seems like this place has a sick sense of humor, robbing a guy of his big heroic moment only to spit him out in a bunch of alien snot." Though, after all the drama that Guy had given him with blowing himself up and then Jason... speaking of which...
"Jason... the hell is he doing here? And who replaced him with a pod person? He actually seemed pissed that I blew myself up.."
no subject
Dick made a soft sound and shook his head. "Hey. Don't say that, okay? I mean, come on. We're fighting not just for our universe here, but for all of them." And it meant Kyle wasn't dead, which Dick was all for. There'd been too many funerals of late.
The mention of Jason makes him look over and raise an eyebrow. "It surprises you that he might actually care?"
Okay, so it had surprised him a bit, too. But he was getting used to it. "Jason...I think a lot of this has hit him pretty hard."
no subject
Either way, there was one thing that was obvious. “If Jason is acting like a normal human being the shit must have really hit the fan…”

"Yeah, sorry man.." Kyle was just one of the few people that could get under his skin for some reason. "Build a bridge and get over it, right?"
He looked up at the meaty ceiling. But, what else is going on here... that weird voice told me some things..and I've heard rumors. But, I haven't seen a single badguy on this ship..."
no subject
"Nah, you don't HAVE to," Dick replied, smiling a little. "I'm just learning to pick my battles with him. Nothing about Jason is going to change overnight, assuming it really changes at all. But right now, we're ally in a really crappy situation and even he realizes that."
He looked upwards as well, then wrinkled his nose. "Luthor's here," he warned. "Not our Luthor. This one is younger and...I don't know. I haven't met him face-to-face yet, but we're keeping an eye on him." 'We' being the Bats, of course. "And there may be bad guys that we don't know about, too. Not everybody here is from our world or the worlds immediately around ours."
no subject
Though really, Luthor was probably near the bottom of Kyle’s ‘shit list’, there were dozens of people who were more likely to cause actual trouble and damage… “Has anyone tried anything?”
no subject
He shook his head. "Not as such. We had some trouble a few months back. We had a creature called a Yeerk in custody. Apparently they crawl into the brain and basically take a person over. This one had surrendered, partly because it was the last one. And, apparently, partly because it had no appetite for the sort of domination that the rest of the race had.
"We had a lot of people who wanted it dead, just because of what it was. We had a trial, though, and the jury decided to put it in suspended animation. But the other side...felt they knew better. So they tried to destroy it. A lot of people got injured in the fighting." He raised an eyebrow. "We don't exactly need villains for the crew to have trouble."
no subject
"Makes me wonder how everyone else feels. I mean..Guy and Wonder Woman..and Hal." He couldn't really call her Diana, that would be weird...plus he bet Batman would have his head if he was too familiar.

A guide or something, anything really...

“I’m really not trying to be a skeptic here… but, I’m just not going to be gung ho about it all like the other leaguers that showed up. It’s obvious that we don’t have much of a choice when it comes to what’s going on, but…” He was still worried, he’d seen some of the people walking around (a giant yellow rat….what..?) and then there were people like Guy who would punch in the face and ask questions later. “We’ve really got a motley crew here...”
no subject
Dick shook his head. "I've not seen one, though our benefactors have said that Blue Beetle's scarab is descended from some racial seeds they planted in our universe?" He blew out a breath and laughed. "I know you're not trying to be a skeptic. Believe me, that's Batman's job." And Dick's. And Tim's. And Terry's, in all honesty. It was what they were there for. "And yeah, the crew is...about as motley as they get. The crew wasn't just snatched from our world, but from any universe that was being destroyed.
"They said we're 'blessed by the Divine Threads'." He doesn't need air quotes. They're in his voice. "People whose stories permeate the Omniverse, who have shaped the worlds and stories around them. And because of that, we're the ones who got Chosen to beat on the bug people."
no subject
"There's not a giant book or anything hidden somewhere in this ship... is there?"
no subject
"I can't say one way or another," he finally admits. "It's entirely possible there are several, though I imagine you mean a specific book."
no subject
But, then there would be no mystery in life, would there? "I suppose I'll just have to explore the entire ship eventually... wonder if they'd let me outside too.."
no subject
Mystery was great. Dick thrived on it. But if the knowledge was there, somebody should have looked. "You'd have to ask Stacy, but be aware that she's serious about the crew's safety. So she might not, but the dominant personality right now can at least be somewhat reasoned with."
no subject
“This place keeps getting weirder and weirder the longer I’m here. It’s like Survivor meets a Space Odyssey. “ Though, it would be nice to be able to vote people like Luthor off the ship, Kyle would admit. Shaking his head a bit he moved on from those thoughts.
“I suppose this is where I say… take me to your leader, but I’d rather go with… show me your bed” He grinned a bit. “And that was totally not a come on. This Lantern has absolutely no game.”
no subject
Dick snorted and laughed. "You seem to do okay for a guy with no game." Even if the girlfriends ended up dead at an alarming rate. Not that Dick knew about most of that. "Come on, this way."
no subject
“That’s not very comforting. I mean, I don’t know if I’d say being on an ex prison ship is on my list of priorities. “
no subject
"Just remember the 'ex' part of it," Dick suggested. "Though I'm not sure about the fact that a prison ship was kitted out with suspended animation tubes. Heck of a way to spend your sentence, if you ask me."
no subject
"Goes along with things like "ex-con", right?"
no subject
"There are other AIs in the computer complex, though. Most of them seem to be all right. At least one is now out of commission."
no subject
"And we don't have a genius here that could just reprogram the entire ship...?"

He turned a corner into a long corridor of doorways. "Welcome to the crew quarters. The beds are still kind of squishy, but you don't feel like you're being breathed on, either."
no subject
"I wonder if anyone else realizes how nasty this place really is.." because, seriously it was like they were in the stomach of a whale. "I feel bad about your...uh...fleshy jumpsuit.."

"Anyone ever think about asking for regular clothes when they're just walking around?"
no subject
"And we've asked." Kyle really didn't think that they hadn't all asked at some point. "Stacy hasn't said why we can't, but given that we've not really found anything much in the way of clothing in Weapons and Possessions, I've hypothesized that whatever method they used to snatch us from our worlds is probably not easy on cloth. It's entirely possible that clothing just didn't make the transition."
