It had been a couple days now. His wounds were getting progressively better, but he was still far too sore to move around to much. He had never sat still growing up, and even when an adult, he never liked just sitting around. It was going on 72 hours of not moving, not doing anything, and Chris was about to scream he was going so stir crazy.

Luckily for Chris he was about to get company. "Hey." Cassie smiled. "How are you doing?"

He smiled as he spotted Cassie. "I've been worse. How about you?"

"The same though I'm not the one in a hospital bed. How long do you have to be in here?"

"At least another week." He groaned as he sat up slightly, offering a hand. "Don't think we've been properly introduced though. Name's Chris Redfield."

"I'm Cassie Lang." She said, shaking his hand. "I guess we didn't really have enough time to get to know each other earlier. Good work, by the way."

Chris grinned impishly. "Considering I had just been yanked out of the crater of a volcano last week, our little 'trap' wasn't much of a challenge."

"A volcano? Seriously?" Well of course seriously, people were grabbed from all over. She had to be the only one to be grabbed while she was doing something incredibly boring. "Well I'm glad I was trapped with you."

"Long story... honestly, not sure it's one I'm anxious to tell people not familiar with my world... it's rather messed up. And trust me, the feeling is mutual. How do you do that size thing anyway?"

"Hey, I can understand not wanting to share. And I can change size because in the world I'm from someone discovered something called pym particles. Exposure to them can make you either grow or shrink depending on the type. I got my hands on them often enough that I can do either whenever I want, and sometimes when I lose my temper. I'm still working on that."

"Just to kinda put things in perspective... my partner, Jill, and I have been through a zombie outbreak like the one here before... this latest thing? ...It made me - who had grown desensitized to blowing off the heads of men, women, and children zombies alike, and had grown immune to the stench - sick to my stomach..."

He hid a slight twinge of sadness by adjusting himself in the bed, and making it look like a slight pain.

"At any rate... that sounds like quite the discovery... would have amazing potential applications..."

"I... wow. That's really- I'm sorry you went through that." Cassie thought about reminding Chris to take it easy and not move around too much but she remembered how much she hated hearing that when she'd been in the hospital.

Chris expected a response like that, and he just waved a dismissive hand. "Hey, better me than any other civilians... I'm trained to fight bio-weapons especially, so, it kinda comes naturally. And I figure, because I do the fighting, people like Claire don't have to."

"Claire..." Cassie tried to come up with a face for that name. There were so many people on the meatship it was hard to keep track.

"My sister... Sherry's mom." That still felt odd to say. Claire wasn't old enough to be a mom in his books. Hell, he was of the opinion she should still be in high school.

"Oh, Sherry!" Cassie didn't really know Sherry but seeing as the girl was one of the few kids on the ship she definitely knew of her. "Yes, your niece is very cute. It must be nice to have your family on board and podpopped."

Chris smirked a bit, trying to hide his discomfort. He had mixed feelings on the matter, to be honest, but this wasn't the time or place for that. "Heh, yea... it's been a while since I saw her, so it's quite a change from what I remember... but yea, she is a cute one."

"Have they been in to see you? I know when I was in the hospital my dad was the only reason I didn't go crazy."

"Claire is coming down with some movies in a bit, so I'm not gonna be alone for long or anything."

Chris was really starting to like Cassie. Reminded him a lot of Claire at that age. If Cassie wasn't careful, she'd have an overprotective bear of an adoptive brother soon.

Cassie could use one of those to keep her in line. And from snogging mini Kang.

"Oh what are you watching? Or is it a surprise?"

Well Claire could probably appreciate having Chris' attention split between multiple little sisters.

"No clue. If you want, you could stay and watch with us. I'm sure Claire wouldn't mind."

"Thanks but I don't want to interrupt family time." She paused and smiled. "Well, maybe if the movie is good."
