Meeting of the Newbs
They've been bickering the entire time up to the Living Area.
"While I'm loathe to interrupt your trivial musings, the signal is coming from in here--"
There's no one currently in the Obs Deck, but there are some belongings carelessly scattered about.

Then he asks, "What year are you from and where?"

"Kara, he's from even farther back than the Stupid Ages of Earth. I can't possibly explain all this in a manner he can understand. You do it; you should be able to communicate it in a simple enough fashion."
no subject
"You, French-boy!" Kara peeled off her cape - she was away from home, and she did not want to get it damaged. "Hold my cape! This boy needs a good supersmack!"
no subject
"I'm no boy, and if you feel the need to turn his ridiculous and hardly well thought out comments into a reason to start a pointless brawl with one of a total of three passengers we know the whereabouts of, you may do so. I shall not require you to venture a question as to the logic of that action."
no subject
"He's more logical than you, at least," he says to Kara. "Perhaps this situation isn't as hopeless as I thought."

Regardless, it's a weak field and he's still knocked into the wall rather hard, dropping his omnicom to the floor.

"Are we quite finished?"

||Kara Zor-El.||
Tentacles made of energy reached out of the walls, grabbed her, and slammed her into a wall.
||Hostile actions taken towards your podmates result in Violations
even if they deserve them. 15 Violations results in Punishment. This is your only warning.||Then the tentacles released her.

"Not as such, no." He said idly. "It's probably something that was mentioned; but it has been fifty years since my mother told me fairytales. Nonetheless, I understand, more or less."
In a language he no longer understood, as well. As such, they had been classified as utterly unimportant, beyond the old stories women told children to frighten them at night.

"There are no actual little green men on the moon, but there are other worlds, much like Earth, very far away, that support sentient, intelligent life. Beings such as myself--and her, " He gestured to Supergirl.
"This ship is so advanced it appears to be beyond even the technology of my time, and I'm from more than a thousand years in your future. We must find out what powerful beings were able to capture us, and find a way to return all the people imprisoned here back to their proper locations and time periods. It will likely be quite dangerous, as their purposes for gathering us are likely sinister."
There. Situation explained.

"In other words, we are attempting to control and reverse a hostage situation from the inside?" Javert asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'm not sure if you've noticed, m'sieur, but such things do not have a good history; what's more, I believe you are working off of an educated guess at best."

"He has a fair point. While he's from a relatively primitive time period, that's not his fault, and he appears to have a keen enough mind." He raises an eyebrow at her. "My request for you to explain our situation had more to do with frame of reference. You've lived in 21st century Earth far longer than my brief time in the late 20th century. I feared that my unfamiliarity with Earth culture and history would be a detriment to my explaining our current situation. The 21st century is significantly closer to the 19th century than the 31st century is."
He looks at his omnicom again.
"My apologies, sir. In my own case, I have an intelligence sufficiently advanced even in comparison to my own species, who are significantly more advanced than the human race. Explaining things to individuals from times that are comparatively primitive is a daunting proposition, especially given my relative unfamiliarity with Earth history."
After being slammed into the wall, and shaken out of what's essentially been shock at finding himself in this place, he's feeling marginally more polite.

He scans her with a brief bleep.
"Therefore, technically, you're sixteen," Brainy corrects her. "But I agree with your assessment."

Javert glanced around. "I don't think wandering off is the best idea. As far as appearances suggest, this is a common area. Assuming the...'others' need rescuing, and assuming the three of us could handle anything they needed rescuing from, then perhaps it could be assumed we should go out."
He crossed his arms. "Or we could wait. In the commons area. Where it looks as if people are supposed to gather."
