Ten Forward

Not too long after his introduction to the rest of the crew, Lex slipped away to head back to the Lounge area. That particular part of the ship had been his main workspace for several months now. He knew he would have to share that space one day, and he was certainly prepared for it.

Lex was, at the end of the day, a businessman. As any good businessman would tell you, the biggest deals are never negotiated in the board room. They're done on the golf course, the tennis courts, but more often than not, in the smoke filled backroom of a high end bar. Alcohol was always good for soothing frayed nerves, loosening tongues, and getting people to agree on things they normally wouldn't.

And now Lex had his own bar to conduct business. Actually, he had his own bar and lounge as a business now. Yes, a business. That meant that the booze and smokes that he had were not free anymore.

This is Lex Luthor here, did you think he'd give away all his booze for nothing?

Luckily, he was aware that people are running low on cash, but money isn't the only thing of value around here. His asking price was simple. He'd make any drink you want, even non-alcoholic ones (and given that he had spent some time mixing and matching liquor and juices from different universes, he can mix dozens drinks you never even thought of), and all you have to do...

"So, tell me about yourself."

...is have a conversation with him.

Nate had been wandering around the newly opened areas of the ship. Some were interesting. Some weren't so. But at least he'd be familiar with them. The last place he came across however, was the Lounge. He hadn't seen Lex come back with the Bridge Team. Didn't know that he was supposedly a bad man. All he knew was that, this person he hadn't seen on the ship before (which was totally understandable taking into account the size of the ship and its number of occupants) was asking about him.

He chuckled wryly when he heard the question, shaking his head a little. "Nothing much to tell. Trust me. What about you?"

Selene had come to check out the place. And there he was. Someone who was...so familiar. So very, very familiar. But something was off.

Of course she wasn't so good with ages to place someone who was a few decades younger than the Lex Luthor she's seen on TV.

"I'm actually looking around," Selene said, leaning on the bar to look at the drinks. "I don't drink myself. But I'm fine with a conversation if you can tell me your name. I'm Selene Jones."

"Does 'I think you suck' count?"

"I'm Mr. Wednesday," this old man says, with that certain friendly, supremely inoffensive blandness about him that could come only from long experience. "You're an interesting man, Mr. Luthor."

Jo was checking out the newer areas of the ship - basically adding them to her layout of places she needed to keep an eye on.

She had to admit that the lounge was impressive - more so because it actually had good stuff to drink. Though, she's openly wary about the guy running the place. More so since she'd heard there were versions of him being a badass supervillian.

"In my world I'm a sheriff's deputy and a former Army Ranger," she tells him, giving him a look that all but says she will break him in half if he looks at her sideways. "What more do you need to know?"

Nate caught the smirk and smiled beside himself. He was probably coming off as an insecure teenage brat. Well, he was that just wouldn't do.

"No mister. I'm Nathaniel Richards. But I suppose you could call me Nate." He was really getting sick of hearing his own name called. He offered the man his hand, noting how he'd deftly dodged the question about himself.

"Surprise me, Mister...?" His smile was friendly enough. He hadn't met many people on the ship. And he saw no reason to be antagonistic to this particular person.

"Wouldn't it technically be Stacy whose propri-what did you say?" Selene said, head snapping towards Lex, looking surprised.

She studied him more carefully now. "...my lord...you'd look like that when I was like...five! Maybe younger..."

"That'd depend a great deal on what you want to know," Shadow Link said. He wanted to know his new terrain.

So here he was.

"And what would you recommend as a good drink?" He seemed a bit young to be drinking.

He just wasn't on his world. Not that it mattered too much, seeing as he didn't really have a 'normal constitution.'

Jean had already met Lex in a way... And she certainly already knew a lot about him. Probably more than she really wanted.

She looks at him though with an arched eyebrow. "I'm Doctor Grey, I'm incharge of the medbay." And that's basically all he's going to get from her at the moment.

"Would it be possible to have a glass of water?" No, no drinking for Jean. How sad.

"Uh, no, my name is Wags-Tail-a-Lot. Of you want to get really technical on that, my birth name is Eddie, but I haven't used that one for years."

"I've been going by Shadow," Shadow Link said, taking the drink and downing about half of it in one gulp.

It was kind of nice to have something aside from the goop.

Her eyes narrow a little, and she takes the water from him and pulls it safely out of range from his mouth.

She picks it up though and takes a sip. Lowering it, she offers him an almost sweet smile. "You mean like I could throw you across the room, just by thinking about it? That sort of information? If not, you need to be a little more specific."

No Lex, she doesn't like you very much, and she's not about to pretend to.

"Nice to meet you, Lex." He returned the handshake firmly.

"Wouldn't rightly know. Probably a few months. Time passes strangely on the ship. What about you?" He watched interestedly as Lex worked. He'd never spent much time around bars before, and he found the entire activity rather interesting.

"Yeeah, that would be a no. And my name is Wags. There's only one person who still calls me Eddie and she's possibly dead now."
