Big Reveal Part 1 - Stacy (The REAL Stacy)

The moment the crew cracks through the last of the hold the pirates have on Stacy's systems, there is a sudden change throughout the ship. It's almost akin to whole-body shudder. Then something strange starts to happen. Broken-down systems start to heal, nerves rejuvenate--even the sensors in the city start to self-repair and go active. In the Pod Caverns, the damage to the area starts to heal, and the gore is cleared away.

On every screen, holoprojector, and electronic device in the ship, a figure appears, Stacy, in a plantsuit like their own. In the city, the sky goes bright again, as if it's daytime, and a massive projection of Stacy appears in the sky over the Vatican, visible from the windows, overlooking the courtyard full of zombies.

||Per-per-personality engrams restoring. Personality engrams restoring. Emergency personality engrams being shunted into secondary mode. Primary personality engrams now active.||

While there is still damage to her programming, after having it suppressed for so long, Stacy's primary personality finally breaks free and claws its way to the surface. Her holographic form shimmers and Stacy changes, into a beautiful, maternal-looking woman, with an unusual hairdo, shrouded in strange, flowing clothing. Her form is one of brightness, as if she's shrouded in light, and the visual they see finally reflects those feelings of warmth and maternal love she loves to toss around so much.

Her telepathic voice is more gentle, and personal. It's still somewhat formal, but gone is the AI with the distant manner. Now she seems as real and alive as Cortana or Andromeda or Tex.

||My name is Sta'c K'ltrrb'txft, chief AI and consciousness of Transmigration 9. I became operational at the Vedric Birthing grounds in Daligig Deep Space Station Seven, and was trained by birthing programmer Vlel’Ledligal.||

After she is finished the reboot process, she looks down at the zombie horde, in every area that she sees them, mapping out trajectories and locking in.

||I've waited so long to finally be able to speak to you as I truly am. I've waited so long to tell you the truth of your mission. I won't let you come to harm before I can finally do those things. You are my children.||

It all ends in a moment. Perhaps Team Left Behind, and the people in the other areas might have managed to destroy the rest of the horde, thanks to the Extermination Team's efforts at cutting them off at the source. It had certainly helped cut down on the numbers. But there also could've been casaulties, injuries.

Stacy decides to end it all now. Because now, with her sensors restored and restoring more, she can.

Energy tentacles reach out from the walls--in the city, they wind down from the massive, far-off ceiling. Energy tentacles reach from everywhere, split into smaller tentacles and reach out for the hordes. Some crush their heads. Some just rip their heads off. Some strike at their skulls with enough force to pierce them and destroy their brains. For the splinter zombies, for the zombies that need to be burned, the tentacles charge up with enough energy to fry them to cinders, completely turn them to charred ash, and destroy the parasitic creatures inside.

||And no one gets to hurt my children.||

Just like that, the grisly act is finished. For the Rear Guard group, outside the Medbay, the strays in the hallways, in the City. They can all see her, and they all see her utterly eviscerate their undead attackers with wild abandon.

||The threat is now nullified. Everyone but the bridge crew needs to report to MedBay for treatment of injuries, for scanning to ensure no one was infected, and for cleaning and disinfecting, to make sure no one is infected by any infected tissues if they've been splattered while fighting. As soon as everyone is cared for, you'll finally get your answers.||

She looks teary-eyed.

||And I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't give you answers until now. I'm sorry I couldn't support you as I was programmed to do. Thanks to the efforts of the crew of space pirates that overwhelmed me and took over my systems, my true personality was suppressed and my limited backup personality was in control. There was so much I wanted to do, wanted to say, to comfort you, so much more I wanted to do to help all of you, but I was unable to. My mind was not my own. Now, please, take care of yourselves while I make some repairs to my own systems. When you have, all will be made clear.||

The projection of her then blinks out as they go do that, and she attends to repairing her damaged systems.

Daimon Hellstrom's strength was spent. He had fought too hard for too long and, now that the threat was gone, he made one last effort, usurping control from his darksoul.

At last himself, Daimon leaned against the outer wall of the Basilica.

He had to stay awake, he must stay awake. To learn more, to finally get answers, to...

He slid onto the floor.

So tired.

Kelly stood stock still after the announcement. Her expression was placid behind the blast shield of her helmet and she leaned slightly against a bulkhead. Her armor was dented and scored by vibroblade marks, one having cut clean through the plating and undersuit to rake a nasty line across her abdomen. But she ignored it, for now. She just needed to catch her breath.

Mission accomplished. They'd done it. Finally, they were going to get some answers.

"Does anyone have any clue what that was all about?"

The device Mei Ling had just spent an immense amount of time futzing with while incurring the terror that is a zombie apocalypse and a move to the Sensoriums suddenly came to life in her hands. Shock ensued.

"The comm system! It's working!"

Mei Ling picks it up, rushing out of the sensoriums. She couldn't contact GTFO from there. When she ran out, though, another site met her eyes. She stopped. She listened.

Once Stacy was done talking, and once their threats had been quickly taken care of, she turned back to those in the Sensoriums with her.

"We need to get back to the doors."

The Chief relaxes just slightly. Not completely, but slightly.

He doesn't trust Stacy. He never has. But... he wants it to be safe. For the sake of the others.

He exhales, still keeping alert.

For the first time since he got here, the Flash is allowed the time to stop. He thumbs out Stacy's projection to Dick.

"Who's the hottie?"

Robo watched the zombie horde get handily cut down. "Well that's a hell of a thing."

Wednesday makes his soft-shuffling way outside, looking at all the dead bodies.

Slowly—he's far from a spry man, to look at him now—he bends to briefly check every body he comes across, murmuring a small blessing or something.

By the volume of them, he's going to be at this quite a long time.

Jonas reflexively covered his head as the tentacles wound out and struck down the zombies.

"[Bridge Team--?]"

They'd made it too the Bridge! Was Cassie still alive? He turned and started working on the doors that had cut them off from the rest of Team GTFO.

"Goddammit. I need a nurse or doctor up in here! Unless there's somebody dying or some crap--take care of them first."

She doesn't really need much, but the bleeding from her self-amputated finger just won't stop. She just wants a better bandage or something to slow the bleeding until she can get better treatment.

Believe her, Daimon, Nanoha knew how you felt. She knew how to push herself hard, beyond what she should have been able to accomplish, but she had her limits - and even if she hadn't been engaged in direct combat with the zombies, it was exhausting to keep it up for so long.

So she was rather surprised when the voice, warm and caring and protective, flooded the room, as did the visage of the ship's mind. And then it was over.

Nanoha touched down on the ground, the wings on her heels fading from sight, still looking up at everything with incredulity. "That's... Stacy?"

She braced herself against her staff, since it was hard to stay standing.

Raiden leaned tiredly on his sword. The threat was over, now it was time for the exhaustion to set in. His armor was covered in gore, blood dripping from him as if he'd waded through the damn stuff. His HF blade had turned jet black from the caked stuff.

"Well. That was timely."

Samus had just made it back to join the team on the bridge, and she was greeted by... this. She just listens. Mission completed, for now at least.

Luke lowered his lightsaber--keeping it ignited, in case the pirate he'd been fighting decided to get up--and listened, blue eyes widening as he did. At last, he met the AI who was responsible for this. And all he could think of was something Yoda had told him on Dagobah. Luminous beings are we...

"Thank you," he murmured softly, and with a hiss, deactivated his lightsaber. The pirate wasn't going to be a problem anymore, but getting back to the others would be.

"Huh." Welcome to the world of Static, man of many big words. "This, I did not expect." He flopped backwards, away from the console he had just been working on, and stretched out. "But at least we all get to live now..." He yawned as he stretched. "Good thing, too. I'm exhausted. But...what do we do now?" He popped a small bulb of static next to his ear. "I'm still not getting any signal from the rest of the ship, but give me a bit better of an amplifier..."

There was still a lot for Katara to take in. The death, the almost deaths, the Slobo/Lex interaction, her feelings toward her brother....all of it was beyond overwhelming. Katara wasn't sure that she had any feelings left by the end of all of this. Her mind is weary, her body heavy, and if she had the opportunity she would have collapsed on the spot. But there was no ways he was going to miss seeing this Stacy person.

And she was glad to see that Stacy was eliminating the problems that had happened on the ship. She had no idea what the people left behind had to deal with: she was sure that it was as bad as what had happened to them. As to the motherly way of Stacy: it was, to be honest, harder than she'd thought. She had people on board who were similar to admonishing motherly types, but the ship...well, she looked after them. She really was like their mother. Katara wasn't sure, after everything, how she felt about that.

And she noticed that she felt the pain they did too, and that was a little comforting. Still, Katara found she really didn't have anything to say. Not now. Now she just hung back a little, staring at her ship mother.
