Medbay on Level One

Down below the Pod Caverns was the Medbay. Most of the crew had been down there before, for one reason or another. The parts of it they had access to were currently empty of life -- and, as a matter of fact, empty of undeath as well.

They might be able to find something down here that would help them. Hey, it couldn't hurt. This was the Medbay, wasn't it?

"We can hold this position. You go out there without back up and all you'll be is zombie lunch. We have medical supplies here and, more importantly, we have guns. We can fortify the wall and hold out until reinforcements come and they take out the source of the zombies."

Sima Yi, meanwhile, has gone back to where he was sitting, across the room from Kazuya. "Let me get this straight - you're suggesting leaving what, presently, is a perfectly secure and tenable position, battling our way through hundreds of flesh-eating corpses to get to whatever the hell that 'Vatican' place the rescue team was talking about is, and which itself may not remain secure for much longer, when we have barely a handful of actual combatants and this is the probable fallback position from the Vatican?" He'd been paying attention when Leon was giving orders - and were he in any shape for a pitched battle right now, he might have gone back to the Vatican with Worf's team. Right now, though, he'd decided that discretion was the better part of valor; the longer he could hang onto what remained of his sanity, the better.

Kazuya smirked over his shoulder at Sima Yi while waiting for Peter to move. "In a word? Yes. Those things are weak, and slow. If we take the offensive, our sheer momentum will be enough to stagger their already disorganized ranks, pushing them into each other. We just need to be fast, smart, and we can't just stand still."

"Weak and slow? Did you miss the huge ones out there? The one with claws. They're not all slow and weak. No one, and I mean no one, is going out there until we get the all clear or we have backup."

Peter wasn't moving. This guy was less than frightening in comparison to Arthur, much less Sylar. And, dislike aside, he couldn't let this guy wander off into death.

"And what if they're not all the kind of zombies that have to bite? I've seen a horror movie or two. The don't all work like that. For all we know, you touching the wrong one could make you into one of them." He shook his head. "You're being an ass, but not enough to where I'm going to let you go off for the slaughter."

[identity profile] demonicgene.livejournal.com 2009-11-07 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
How annoying. These people were content to just sit there and wait for their deaths. There was one last thing before he was going to simply move this man out of the way, and slaughter the rest of them if necessary. He was not going to simply sit around and wait for this to blow over.

"And what of the people in this Vatican? If their position is compromised, then they're dead. Plain and simple. Their numbers should be more than concentrated on going after the threat they know about. Leaving their rear wide open. And once their position is overrun, where do you think they'll head next? We'll have lost our only allies, as well as being surrounded."

He didn't want to give away too much of what he was capable of, just in case these people did make themselves into enemies, but Peter was giving him no choice. He lowered his voice to just barely above a whisper as he spoke to the self-styled 'mimic.'

"And you of all people, right now, should know very well that it would take more than a mere touch to make me into one of them."

"Despite their situation with the enemy - dire as it may be, if it's anything like what we've faced here - they were able to muster the resources to send out a successful rescue party for us. That suggests that they still have skilled warriors there, as well as commanders who can plan ahead. They aren't just a group of frightened civilians - which, by the way, is what the majority of our group here is comprised of." Including himself, loath as he'd be to admit it - he's been in a few battles before, but that's nowhere near enough for him to maintain his composure more than superficially in a situation like this. "Even supposing you knew where their positions were and there was anything you could do to help them, without a horse, you'd end up bogged down in the fighting, and probably surrounded and devoured before you'd even gotten halfway there."

"Look, out of everyone here, I'm the one who knows the most about zombies. And I don't care what the heck you are, but it's pretty obvious you're organic. And that mean if you go out there without any back-up, you are not coming back. Trust me." The Middleman said to Kazuya.

[identity profile] demonicgene.livejournal.com 2009-11-09 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
That earned a glare for Middleman. He had been told he wasn't going to be able to do things all his life. He had come to go out of his way to prove that he could do things when people said they were impossible. Besides, he'd had enough of simply standing around and waiting. He adjusted his gloves a bit before stepping around Peter.

"Fine, cowards. Just sit in here and wait for death to come to you. I shape my own future." And with that, Kazuya makes his way towards the exit, leaving medbay, and instantly throwing himself into the fray.

Chopper watched Kazuya walked away. He really wanted to pull that scary man back in... but he was too scary and Chopper didn't want to mess with him.

The reindeer thought that staying behind with everyone was a safer idea than leaving and finding zombies to kill. And if they were to come under attack, they'd need all the help they could get. For all his insecurities, Chopper knew deep down that he hold up his own in a fight.

"So.. what now?"

Miku exhaled through her mouth, at once chiding and annoyed. She sat up and pushed herself off the table. It made her wince a bit, but she was starting to get used to the pain again. It was like she'd been asleep for a long, long time.

Which was closer to the reality than she'd wished to consider. She watched Kazuya leave and felt a sick twist in her stomach, not helped at all by the silver-haired Kadaj's terrible insanity (there was no sane person, none, that sounded the way he did). She smiled again at Tony and Tess.

It worked a little better this time. "If we're going to stay in here, and there may be people, ah, arriving, is there anything we, well, I," she looked down at her small, laced together hands, Miku's voice small and unintimidating, "might be able to do to help? I... I don't have any medical training, but... I can organize and prepare." Very, very, very well, they would learn.

If Peter allowed her to, anyway.

"Great. You can help them. I'll be guarding the door since our friend left." Kawalsky walked right up to the door, holding his gun at the ready. "Don't worry about him. Either he can take care of himself like he says he can or he's got a death wish. We couldn't stop him either way."
