Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

Getting off the damn ship.

"A pleasure, Static," the naga said. "Circumstances aside. I'm Sensor, and this is Brainiac 5; we're with the Legion of Superheroes."

She held out what looked like a really small computer and a ring. "Here's your omnicom and communication ring, compliments of our Engineering department."

Static took the items and looked over the omnicom, front and back. "Impressive engineering department. I was afraid I was gonna enter a nasty tech blackout here... I need my EM fields. So,I'm assuming this functions kinda like a PDA, and the ring...works how?"

"Well, Stacy appears to be some sort of techno-organic ship, so I don't think you have anything you need to worry about on that front," Jeka said.

"The ring is very simple to use; you just concentrate and think of the name of the person or persons you want to communicate with, and then of the message you want to send them." Jeka held up her own ring, which appeared identical to Static's, except that her's had an L on it instead of a T. "Then the ring links up with the the ring of the person or persons you're trying to communicate with, and passes on the message."

"Yeah, it's the 'organic' part that throws me off. The ship doesn't hum like most electronics." Static took a closer look at his ring. "I gotta ask, why the 'T'? I mean, it does help it match my Titans communicator, and I know you don't want to confuse 'em with Legion rings, but..." his voice trailed off.

"While the ship's primary artificial intelligence is named Stacy, 'Transmigration 9' is the ship's official designation."

They needed something on them.

"So.. the ship's official name is above and beyond the movement of a population from one area to another...number nine. Well, that makes some sense, I guess. Gotta wonder what happened to the other eight, though."
