Newbie Meet N' Greet

Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.

But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:

Mara could see equipment being handed out to people, and she was never one to pass up on free supplies. The creatures behind the desk were new species for her, but she was getting used to that rather quickly. Nothing in this place actually made sense.

"Standard issue supplies?" The smuggler glanced over the technology that was being handed out. Nothing she recognized, and it would take considerable restraint to not take them apart as soon as she had some room. And tools.

"Indeed," Jeka said, holding an omnicom and ring out to the redheaded woman. "Omnicom and communication ring. The former is generally used for non-verbal communication, and the latter for verbal."

If she wanted to know how they worked, there were a few people in Engineering who would probably let her look at the designs. Not the member of Engineering sitting with Jeka, mind you, but some of the other members.
